On our first visit to Malta we decided to stay at the Hotel Juliana - mainly due to prior research and it being a boutique hotel. The hotel and room lived up to all our expectations even though we were unable to book a sea view room at the front of the hotel. The side sea view room that we stayed in was clean, comfortable and well furnished with bright modern colours. The room terrace and pool were a welcome addition for a bit of relaxation and chilling from the hustle and bustle in the streets below. The positioning of the hotel was ideal for the b&b package that we had - the harbour area had numerous restaurants catering for all food appetites. The restaurant in the hotel itself (Zest) was really good in terms of food, service and all round quality. The only slight negative with the hotel itself was the lack of attention to important detail / finishing touches that we have experienced in similar hotels elsewhere - which with a little thought and effort would have made the rating excellent. That said we would certainly recommend and visit again.

I was a little nervous after reading so many glowing reviews. Would it be as good as expected?
We decided to treat ourselves to an Ambassador Suite, not just for the bay front views, but because of the extra space the living area affords you. Not cheap, but value for money none the less.
Saint Julian is a busy little place but we found it to be just about right in terms of location. Having a bus stop right opposite the hotel is very convenient too.
The room was lovely - restful decor, very spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable.
The rooftop pool area is lovely and the breakfast buffet is excellent.
But what makes the hotel so good is it's small size and the staff. They are very friendly and helpful and really do make your stay.
It's so good that we've decided to go again next year.
My only slight gripe is that the wifi signal seemed much stronger in the lobby area than in our room. It was easy to lost the signal in the room, especially at the balcony end of the suite,
Very recommended.

Room Tip: There are only 15 front facing rooms. Although a little noisier with traffic, it's worth it for...

We very much enjoyed our stay! Everything was well run and everyone was very courteous and attentive. We loved the breakfast buffet. The location was perfect with a perfect view, every morning. The roof top pool was serene.

Room Tip: There isn't a fitness center, but couldn't take that off.

I spent my 40th birthday here & arranged for family & friends to join me. All of the staff made us feel like we were special guests - especially the way they took special care of my mother during her stay. We had a wonderful dinner in Zest - the food & the service were truly world class. Our room was gorgeous & our view was spectacular. We loved staying here.

My husband and I recently spent a week here and upgraded to an Ambassador Suite as there were no other balcony rooms available when we booked. The room was incredible, just like the photos on the website. We had no complaints about the cleanliness, courtesy of the staff etc but not everything is perfect! On several occasions our room was not cleaned until the afternoon which made it difficult to have a siesta as you were always waiting for the cleaning staff to knock at the door. Another gripe was the breakfast plates were not warm which meant the food was cold before you started eating. These are minor issues and should not detract from the overall comfort and location of this hotel.

This was our second visit to the Hotel Juliani and we were not disappointed. The same calm atmosphere prevailed , with the hustle and bustle of activities around the Spinola Bay area going on outside..
The only criticism was that the male toilet on the ground floor was not as clean as it could have been.
The rooms however we spotless.
Breakfast good.
We will visit again without hesitation.

Today it remains a family-run establishment committed to ensuring you feel at home and well looked after. Each hotel room offers excellent facilities, fresh Mediterranean decor and plenty of space. Many also boast unobstructed sea views, and you will be able to watch the colourful fishing boats bobbing on the water from the comfort of your balcony or the rooftop swimming pool.
