We have just returned from a week’s stay at the Juliani. The hotel was excellent but rather than just repeat what previous contributors have said, here are some further insights into the Juliani and the staff.

When we got to our room, there was a lovely platter of fruit and a note from the Manager congratulating us on our anniversary – something I put in an email months ago when we booked and they remembered.

Two examples of great service: on the first night, the bath plug was broken and we couldn’t empty the bath, so for a shower the next morning, we had to stand in cold water. We told the night staff and at 09:00 there was a knock on the door from 2 maintenance men asking if it was too early to fix the plug. Very prompt and courteous response.

Then one morning at breakfast, they brought green tea instead of Earl Grey. No less than 3 different staff members came over to apologise. For goodness sake – it wasn’t as if we’d found out they shot Bambi. This attentive service was replicated in every interaction we had with staff.

The problem with the rooftop pool wasn’t that it was too cold but that if you like to swim, 3 strokes = 1 length. It was really only good to cool down after some serious rooftop sunbathing (always able to get beds)

Yes – the bus-stop is opposite but no-one told us that unless someone is getting off the bus at your stop, you have to put your hand out otherwise the bus will sail past. We waited 35 minutes in the hot sun for a 202 to go to Mdina (a must-see place while in Malta). Then the bus came and although we were standing by the stop sign, the bus carried on past.

The Juliani was absolutely delightful and we had a fantastic time. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of St Julian's on the Waterfront, directly across the local bus stop which will take you into Valletta as well as the shop on and off/Sightseeing bus.

Nothing is too much trouble for the hotel staff and they are always more than willing to assist. Outstanding service goes a long way and can make all the difference. Rooms are clean, spacious, modern and comfortable.

Next door to the hotel is a range of restaurants as well as some beautiful waterfront places to eat across the road.

There is also a great walking path which will take you along the waterfront up to Sliema which is an approx 45 min stroll with many places to eat Along the way, try Forttizza's in Sliema by the water with great food.

Will certainly be back!!

The hotel Juliani is a very modern boutique hotel in a wonderful location overlooking Spinola Bay.
On arrival we were given a complementary drink and a voucher for 10euros off a meal in Zest(in house restaurant)which was a nice touch,
We found all the staff to be exceptionally helpful attentive and friendly a great credit to this hotel.
We had booked a room with a seaview which is a must.We were in room 802 which was well appointed modern bright and airy with the most comfortable bed with stunning views over looking Spinola Bay.It was immaculate as were all the areas of the hotel.
The breakfast were plentiful with the option of eggs cooked to your liking along with freshly squeezed orang juice it set you up for the day.
I would also highly recommend Zest.It was a fantasic dinning experience with a lovely ambience.
You will be spoilt for choice when eating out as everything is on your doorstep.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Juliani and hope to return in the near future.

Room Tip: A room at the front overlooking spinola bay is a must

When I arrived the hotel, they told me it was overbooked and no room left. However, they sent me to Hilton nearby at the same price. My staying in Hilton was a pleasant experience so I don't complain.

We stayed at Hotel Juliani for 4 nights early May and found this hotel to fulfill all expectations! Staff is so friendly, helpfull and service minded. We had booked through a travel agent, and our confirmation said breakfast included, but when we came to hotel it turned out that the rate we had received did not include breakfast after all. The mananger, however, decided to give us complimentary breakfast for all 4 mornings :) THANKS! The hotel is situated in lovely Spinola Bay with a great view from the roof terrace (which has a very nice pool area!) The hotel is surrounded by good restaurants and the bus stop right outside is very convenient. We took the bus to Valletta one day, and the next day we WALKED the same distance (12 km) in lovely sunshine, - hereby recommended. A very nice walk and a good way to see the surroundings. The hotel is very clean and has very good beds. All in all a SUPERB hotel for reasonable money.

The hotel is pretty much as described in previous entries and i would agree with all of the good points and can’t remember any poor ones. Yes it is in a busy bay but found the windows sufficiently soundproofed for it not to be a problem. Good selection of restaurants and bars within walking distance to cater for all eventualities, good supermarket within 30 seconds walk, had great service from all of the staff we encountered, used the garage every day – yes it is small but always found a space, breakfast choice was good – hot and cold – eggs cooked to order, fresh juice and freshly made coffee , bus stop opposite takes you right into Valletta, you can walk for as long as you want around the bays through Sliema.
Would definitely recommend

Room Tip: worth the extra to get a sea view suite - the sun hits the front of the hotel in the morning - great...

Just back from a week in St Julian's Bay and cannot speak too highly of this hotel. In a busy hectic tourist area it offered a calm, elegant and sophisticated haven. Excellent helpful but discreet staff, great breakfasts, a lovely well appointed room (703) with loads of space and a balcony overlooking the Bay. And the bath came with a Jacuzzi! The restaurant, Zest, was outstanding and we ate there twice in the seven days because the food was so very, very good and served by pleasant, knowledgeable staff in a sleek modern ambiance. As others have noted the buses to Valletta stop right outside the hotel but if you do hire a car (we did) the hotel has indoor parking for about 9 cars accessible directly from the hotel lift (floor 3). Cannot believe how fortunate we were to have chosen the Juliani since it absolutely made our holiday. And incidentally, excellent value for money in the immediate post-Easter period.

Room Tip: Well worth the extra cost to specify a room with a balcony.
