My father and I arrived at the Hotel Juliani on Friday 28th November and were told we were to get free upgrade (always a good start to a holliday). The rooms could not be faulted in every detail. The staff are the best I have ever seen with there attention not only to detail but also to the patrons in the hotel. The Zest restuarant on the first floor is well worth a visit.
Will I return to the Hotel in future a resounding YES

Stayed at the Juliani mid Nov 08 for our Hols, which turned into a Surprise (for the Girlfriend) Honeymoon,.... thank gawd she said yes!!
The hotel, its staff, particularly Caroline,Ilham & Patricia could not have made our stay more enjoyable.
From the minor problems with our room which were rectified within the hour, to the bottle of champagne once they knew about our forthcoming wedding, the hotel made our time spent in Malta very very memorable.
We will return to Malta and will head straight for the Juliani.
Highly recommended

We stay in some of the best Hotels in the world and this is certainly one of them. We had an initial problem in that the room we were given (609) didn't have a balcony as had been advertised. This was immediately resolved by the Manager George in a very friendly and helpful way and we were moved to room 805. This, we think, was the best room in the Hotel and whilst not facing out across the Bay had a large Balcony/Terrace with 2 chairs, a table and 2 sunloungers. We had a lovely side view of the Bay. The room was quite large and very clean and comfortable and kept this way by the excellent team of service staff. As stated in previous reviews all the Staff were very helpful and friendly and we thoroughly recommend this Hotel to anyone.
Plenty of local Bars, Restaurants and Cafes with a large Supermarket a few minutes away. We last visited Malta 19 years ago and found it had changed quite a bit but we still found it an enjoyable holiday destination.

My first trip to Malta and what a place we found to stay. The Hotel Juliani in St Julians which we booked through the Malta Direct website was great. We stayed on the eigth floor room 807 which was at the back of the building so no great view but hey you don't go on holiday to spend all your time in the room. The room was great very clean and kept clean by an army of cleaners, all the staff were great. The buffet breakfast was good and hearty really set you up for the day. All around the hotel are many bars and restaurants i can recommend the Paparazzi just 100 yds up the road. Getting around is easy the local buses take you virtualy anywhere for less than 1 euro. There was quite a bit of building work being carried out but this was all done during the day and had no effect on the tourists. All in all what a great holiday we had and i would recommend the Hotel Juliani to all. Try it you'll love it.

Since 2005 I have stayed in the Juliani on 4 occasions so its high time to write a review. This splendidly run family hotel is highly recommended. Your experience starts when you first arrive with a warm and friendly welcome in fact that’s why I keep returning to the Juliani, everyone from the room maids to the owner/mangers makes you feel personally welcome, something often missing in much larger hotels. Outside the hotel looks like any typical Maltese building but inside it is modern and comfortable, rooms are spotlessly clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated. For the business man there is fast wireless and cable internet in each room, for the family with youngsters there are DVD players. There’s an excellent English breakfast and if you wish for something different the staff will willingly oblige. The Zest restaurant is highly rated for evening dining. It may be worth paying a little extra for a front side room which has great views over St Julians Bay, which you will never tire of. You won’t be disappointed.

You wont get much better than this in Malta. Try for a sea view room as the views over Spinola Bay are excellent especially at night. Slightly expensive but worth the extra. The staff were very friendly and provided a very good level of service. Given its busy location our room on the 8th floor was very quiet although there was some noise from the roof top pool area a couple of mornings as staff rearranged tables. After travelling to Malta for the past 28 years this rates as one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Would definitely stay here again.

A very nice hotel and certainly above most of what St Julian's has to offer (as far as we could tell). The room (junior suite) was very large and had a fabulous view over Spinola Bay complete with balcony on which to sit and watch the world go by. The staff were very friendly and everything very clean and well ordered. On the roof, the pool is small (and suprisingly cold) but has even better views and is perfect for whiling away the day. Ate in Zest once and was pleasantly surprised by the quality (though quite pricey) - didn't try the rooftop restaurant.

You can catch pretty much any bus from right outside the door - including the open-top sightseeing tour. We had a couple of timeshare touts hanging around on the odd day, but once you've made it absolutely clear you're not interested then they tend to steer clear of you. Nowhere near as bad as in Bugibba or Qawra.

For those of you worried about the proximity to Paceville (the 'Tenerife-like' bar district), then don't. Hotel Juliani is far enough away to avoid the hoards of p*ssed teenagers and yet you pick up some of the buzz from people wandering down to the seafront restaurants just outside.

All in all - very much recommended hotel, but am not entirely sure about Malta as a destination. A lack of beaches (unless you go over to Gozo), generally arid landscape and perhaps a tad too many Brits mean a week is definitely enough. Highly recommend Valletta and Mdina for a day each.

Hotel Juliani, a 4 star hotel, is Malta's small design boutique hotel enviably located in the heart of Spinola Bay, St Julian's. Today it remains a family-run establishment committed to ensuring you feel at home and well looked after. Each hotel room offers excellent facilities, fresh Mediterranean decor and plenty of space.
