You may never want to leave this resort!

On arrival we admired the architecture of the main reception area and huge pool with the rain forest backdrop which seems to have an instant calming effect. Then we had the adventure of getting to the rooms in a little buggy and getting to know the friendly staff as nothing was too much trouble.

The rooms are so different and every detail is so well designed and expensively finished. Loved the huge bath and separate stainless steel shower - just wanted to take note of everything because it is so well designed. Imagine having 2 loggias with different aspects for morning and evening relaxation.

While there we enjoyed tasty meals at the restaurant and really felt there was no reason to sample other local restaurants. Try the pumpkin and coriander dip with olive bread as part of a meze platter. I had the best paella ever.

Thanks to our fabulous hosts John and Lyn Parche who take care of lone diners offering company if so desired.

Wake up to birdsong and get close to nature. Didn't want to leave and will be back.

Wow, amazing hotel, but the rack rate of $600 a night can be pretty steep! If you've got the luxuarty of travelling off season you can pick up a room dirt cheap! We stayed for $200 a night. Sounds expensive but this place is WOW. Try travelling in Autumn for a great rate on last minute.com or something.

My granddaughter wanted somewhere special to celebrate her 21st Birthday.
After checking the internet I couldn't go past the package that was offered by the Byron At Byron Resort.
I expected something very nice but this stay proved to be exceptional in every way.
Kylie and sister Amanda would share one package and my daughter Heather and I the other. This made up the three generations.
Upon arrival we were greeted by very happy and friendly staff.
Kylie was thrilled to find a complementary bottle of champagne from "The Management" in her room to celebrate the occasion.
The accommodation was delightful. The resort was fully booked and yet it was so quiet.
Buffet breakfasts were exceptional and dinner presented us with the best food we have ever eaten.
The pool area was a popular place with service was just a wish away.
Amanda and Heather took advantage of the complimentary yoga class each morning by a very knowledgeable instructor.
We were transported into another world when we entered the Spa and Wellness Centre.
A walk along the boardwalks past the water lily lagoons was a delightful experience.
I must thank Kel and Jason for the extra attention they gave us to make Kylie's 21st Birthday a wonderful memorable occasion.

I have recently returned from The Byron after a 5 day break with my daughter. We were looking for somewhere to stay where there was lots to do, or nothing to do if we chose. And of course, we wanted something that was 5 Star. Therefore, we chose the The Byron at Byron Bay. However, if you are the sort of people that like marble and gold, this resort may not be the one for you.

Location : The hotel is located about 20 minutes from Ballina Airport and about a 7 minute car ride into the township of Byron. The hotel provides a shuttle bus into Byron twice a day. At 11.00am and at 3.00pm. However, you need to organise your own transport back to the hotel.

Accommodation : They are not standard hotel rooms, they are spacious suites containing a small'ish kitchen with microve and dishwasher, as well as a washing machine and dryer hidden away. We were in a deluxe suite, which have two plasma TVs. As I was travelling with my daughter, she had the main room and I slept on the pull-out sofabed.

Meals : The food was lovely, but not cheap and cheerful, but also not extremely expensive. We had breakfast in the restaurant every morning, along with several lunches and dinners. For dinner, we ended up ordering a main meal to share, plus a salad, as a main meal each was far too much food for us. Note: there is only one restaurant on site.

The Spa : If you have the time, I would highly recommend that you visit the spa at least once. We were lucky enough to have two visits, one for a Serenity Facial and the other visit for a Hot Stone Massage.

The Pool : The pool is nice and a big plus is, that it is heated. It has lovely day beds and lounges around it.

The Beach : Eventhough the hotel is not located right on the beach, it was only about an 8 minute walk from our room (in the Waterlilly section) through the hotel and then onto the beach.

The Staff : Everyone was amazing. From housekeeping, the person that looks after your bags, the person that greets you on arrival, Kim in Guest Relations and the Manager, who we chatted to at the gym one morning. Their main concern is, that everyone is having a good time and being looked after.

Highlight : On the last day, we saw a koala in the tree just outside our room. This was pretty exciting. The resort said this is only the third one they have seen in four years.

Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely.

Cherie

I had the advantage of staying at Byron on Byron whilst my partner attended a conference at the Hotel. Always more difficult to be objective when the cost of stay is reduced, I do try to be objective!
We loved the hotel, the spaciousness of the unit/apartment, the facilities, (very much lends itself to self catering with the abundance of local produce) and the out of this world setting.
The boardwalk (although noisy for those moving about with their wheeled suitcases and hard heeled shoes) provided wonderful acess to the large campus. I spent hours of each day enjoying the secluded areas of the hotel grounds - flora and fauna, wonderful bird life, insects, a snake, some wonderful lizard (looking like a dragon). The view of Lake Tallow and sun loungers en route were wonderful spots to spend time. An early morning walk to the beach surprised an ? echidna en route.
The staff were charming and helpful (Kel warm and obliging when our room was being serviced on arrivial).
The Byron is away from town, short drive in the car, long walk (but do'able) and an easy bike ride. This is a bonus not a drawback.
Town has interesting shops, well worth a fossick, as is the Arts and Industry Estate. Go to Bangalow. Get up early walk to the light house see the sunrise. Go to The Farmers Market on a Thursday - check out the local produce.
Great restaurants on site and about the town and area, do eat at the Bangalow Hotel. Very good coffee everywhere.

This is a lovely secluded resort-style hotel located approximately 5km from the town centre close to a secluded beach. This was our third visit in approx two years so that's saying something.

The studio rooms, set in a subtropical rainforest setting, are one of the best features of the resort. They are large and have a separate living/dining area, two enclosed balconies, kitchenette with stove, sink and dishwasher, big flat screen TV, with modern bathroom with large tub and lovely shower.

Given the location, you would certainly need a car to get around to see all the wonderful places to discover. The Byron Bay town centre is not in walking distance.... not for us anyway.

We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the very lovely rainforest and pool area; however, the food and service was a bit hit and miss. Our waiter could not poor a glass of wine properly, spilling the wine on the tablecloth each time. The breakfast and espresso coffee was lovely though considering we're not really fans of buffets. The reception and common areas is inviting (great Aboriginal artwork) and staff are helpful and very friendly.

One aspect that did annoy me was the noisy wooden walkways. I would recommend hotel management install some kind of runner over the boards to reduce the (very loud) clickety clack of wheeled suitcases and hard soled shoes.

Despite being located on the outer edge of town, it's nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the main drag. It certainly is one of the best quality 'value for money' places to stay when visiting the area, particularly if you like hotel/resort style accommodation. You should also make the effort to visit surrounding areas including the wonderful nearby Bangalow (one of our favourites) for its boutique shopping and cafes/ restaurants.

What a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful part of the world! This resort had everything - beautiful, quiet, well designed rooms, great amenities, a lovely spa, wonderful food at the restaurant, but most of all - fantastic service. From the moment we arrived, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and the great service continued throughout our stay. We could not fault this place, and are looking forward to going back!
