Grange Bracknell Hotel
Ranked #4 of 7 Hotels in Bracknell
Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

Plan plenty of time to find the entrance to this hotel.
Myself and three friends stayed here as part of a Wimbledon excursion. What we saw of the hotel is very impressive, foyer, reception ect and our room was well equipped but nothing else was too impressive.
When we went down for breakfast it was indicated by the wave of a hand where we needed to be.
One flavour of juice, a few cereals, baskets of pastries, choice of coffee or various teas (although picked over and not many left) but no cups, milk and boiling water urns almost empty, tables uncleared and not relayed. (TWO waiting staff working incredibly hard).
Get some more staff, you know how many guests you have!

Our stay for two nights at the Grange was part of a gift that incorporated a day at Royal Ascot. Having such a lovely room made our stay very special.
The exterior of the building and the access from the car park was not attractive, but once inside the reception area we felt more at ease and pleasantly surprised.
The reception staff were very pleasant, they answered our questions and made us feel very welcome. On Saturday morning they arranged our taxi to take us to the race course. Our room was amazing! A lovely lounge area. (Sofa a little uncomfortable) with TV, table and chairs. Glass doors through to a good size bedroom, a nice big comfy bed with comfy pillows and duvet. The room had a mini bar, tea making facilities, iron, ironing board, safe and hairdryer, TV a good size for the room and a CD player. A nice bathroom. The bonus for us was the small kitchen that had a full size fridge (for our picnic) a cooker, a dishwasher and all utensils. We enjoyed our evening meal and breakfasts, there was a nice atmosphere in the bar, restaurant and service was good. We will definitely recommend this hotel and stay again ourselves.

Room Tip: We loved our room on 6th floor! Although views not great.

Many of the Trip Advisor recommendations that some folks were not satisfied. I was prepared for the worst - and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. While the hotel is dated the service more than made up for the age of the furnishings. The rooms are big with wide windows that open for fresh, large king bed, medium size TV, temperature control in the room, and a pay mini bar. Service has been excellent with an immediate fix for a TV not functioning, accommodation to a request for foam pillows, and front desk staff that handled cabs, directions and other requests with efficiency and a smile. The staff here has been excellent, from the full English breakfast served each morning, to the bartender at the small bar, and coffee offered in the lounge. The service and friendliness more than made up for the aging facility

Checked into the hotel. Heads to the lift and the receptionist comes and takes my key card makes a change and says it shoudl work now. I get to the room and when I can finally open the door it turns out that the room was already occupied by a man wearing stocking pleasuring himself. I quickly head back to reception get no apology from the receptionist, only told she will get the manager and a new key card was presented to me with a new room two floors up.
The manager did come to the room to apologise later though and then sent up a fruit baskey for the "inconvenience" I don't eat fruit.
Also the room had been baking in the sun all day so was roasting and the air con didn't work properly.
The bed was two singles pushed together so the join down the middle was uncomfortable.
I ordered room service and asked for it to have no tomato yet still when it arrived there was tomato on it.
So all in all not a very good trip.

There was an error on reallocating a room and we regret and apologise for this and any other inconvenience and embarrassment caused during your stay. We hope that the subsequent gesture of goodwill goes some way to restoring your faith in the Grange Bracknell Hotel.

This hotel is in central Bracknell and you can easily get to any of the above places from here. Bracknell bus station provides access to Ascot, Windsor and Legoland and the main station is close by making it easy to get to London [slow train service takes about 40 minutes into Waterloo] and Reading [takes about 15 minutes]. If you stay at weekends, the price is generally cheaper and the hotel offers a good Valentines day package. The suites have a queen size bed with a double sofa bed and there is enough room for a fold away bed if you need extra sleeping space. There is also a small kitchen if you want to keep costs down by going self-catering. At the present time, Bracknell is undergoing a big regeneration and so I'd recommend that you contact Bracknell Forest Borough Council for details of any road closures and changes to access to the hotel. You need for follow the signs to Car Park 2 and turn right into the Grange hotel access road just before the main access to Car Park 2. If there is no parking at the hotel, you can go into car park 2 and the hotel will give you an exit ticket for the car park. The hotel has gym facilities for guests and the food is very good.

Room Tip: Ring before you go and discuss the accommodation they have available with a best price. Rooms on the...

With a family of 5 and young kids finding a hotel that fits is not easy. The Grange however provided a very large family room with a separate area for the kids with their own TV and even a kitchenette. Great central location - easy for legoland and much cheaper, more civilised and friendly than the legoland hotel (which after one visit we would never use again). Food was very good (kids eat free with Legoland voucher) - drinks a bit pricey though even for a hotel. Would use again as a base for Windsor attraction visits.

Room Tip: There is also a Waitrose a short walk away if you need supplies.

The hotel facilities are clean and the room was well maintained. Initial impressions were good.
We got in at 10pm and settled down, and I waited for the next room to settle too. In hindsight I was waaayy too English and at 2am it was apparent from the door slamming and raised level of the 'conversation', that this party was going to be an all-nighter. We contacted reception, asking that they intercede, or move us. I then heard someone next door say there had been a complaint about the noise. The noise continued for a full hour, probably more, with apparently no further check up from hotel staff.
I had to be up for 6am and was truly drained. At reception I booked out and was charged VAT on top of the advertised price which included VAT.
I complained by email and received the VAT back, but the explanation for allowing the noise was that they had not received a specific request from me for a quiet night! That leads me to conclude that you, my friends, must expect a similar experience to my own if you visit The Grange Hotel, Bracknell. Shame, but the management need to get a grip.
