“A local comedy take on the Edinburgh Fringe”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

The Comedy Cellar at Southhill Park is an excellent venue, very like those used at the Fringe in Edinburgh. Great atmosphere, real ale, real comedy laughs, great value.

Reviewed 1 July 2014 via mobile

After a long tiring day, this a nice place to relax and rewind the gardens is always (hopefully) peaceful the benches make a great place to read a book or place to sit and think. The arts centre is amazing exquisite cuisine and the shows are entertaining a really good place to go really recommend especially if your a dog owner there is a big feild to do anything!!

“A superb place for a wedding”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

I officiated here as a Toastmaster on the 14th of June at South Hills first same sex wedding. The venue is really relaxed and the staff are fantastic. The ceremony was in the Recital room which is beautiful with its high Georgian ceilings and wooden paneling. The food was good and the grounds great for pictures. Though there was a lot of public about they seemed not to interfere.

Sally the events manager was very professional in the run up to the event and on the day. My only small gripe was she was a bit casual in her dress for such an event but this maybe down to the casual atmosphere of the whole venue.

Having seen the booking contract and costs I would say, in terms of value for money, anyone would be on a winner booking here, but be wary as they are limited on numbers for dinning at a formal sit down reception. if you are looking for 60 for a wedding breakfast and then 80-100 inc. in the evening with a buffet then this is a great place.

I will be recommending South Hill to future clients

“Our favourite place for Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

We visit SHP for lunch quite often on a Sunday and really enjoy the food. Veg is unlimited although you get plenty so we rarely have asked for more! There is a nice atmosphere there and a reasonable menu choice. Prices are on the high side in my opinion for some dishes which puts us off eating there more often. Also, opening hours for food are not always convenient for us as we like to eat early.

Food is top notch though, the burgers are fabulous and the kids meals are very good quality.

“Their nachos are amazing”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

I used to live within walking distance from SHP and miss it greatly! My favourite thing to do was to have a walk around the grounds, followed by stopping off in the cafe for some drinks and their most amazing nachos! Perfect on a sunny day, watching the kids & dogs enjoy the grass lawn.

The november fireworks that were held here in 2012 were very good as well, it definitely has much of a community feel to it. I never visited for any show, but have heard that they are worth going to.
