A great stay in a Hotel with character and charm. Yes, the fixtures and fittings may not all be 'state of the art' but they all work just as well, so go elsewhere for a plastic box! A welcoming place with excellent, attentive service at all times from Eve and her staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Large, clean rooms and a friendly atmosphere too, all contribute to making a relaxing time. Freshly cooked food with plenty of choice was well prepared to order and a pleasure to be served in the tastefully decorated, light and airy restaurant. [NB If breakfast is served by Jack, always ask him for 'whusky marmalade'!] A quiet location, but close to the centre of Dunblane, in a beautiful area and well placed for looking around the historical monuments of Stirling and visiting Loch Lomond etc. In all, excellent value for money and early bookings are recommended. [To 'helen a', the £5 fee was for entry to the Christmas Disco!]

I'm disappointed that my review posted at the beginning of August has never appeared. While the hotel was adequate for our needs - the food was good , room basic, hotel staff (especially the barmaid) were lovely we had an unfortunate experience with the owners partner. He was very drunk after a day out and shouted at our two boys who were playing in the grass area at the front of the hotel. We didn't know who this person was - he never introduced himself but was aggressive and intimidating. So much so that our boys were scared to go anywhere themselves throughout the remainder of our stay. We did complain but this incident h as obviously been swept under the carpet. Not acceptable behaviour and we will not be returning .

My family and I had travelled from Melbourne Australia and came across the Westlands Hotel which was recommended by friends and family. A big thank you to Eve for welcoming us and looking after us for the 2 day trip, just wish our break was longer. Thanks and hope to see you in the future. Best regards Terry, Amanda and the two girls.

We use this hotel as our favourite restaurant (even if this review is in the hotel section). Eve and her staff are always helpful and efficient, with nothing being too much trouble, even if you turn up wanting a meal for a party at 3 pm.. There is a good choice of food (main and snack menu) and the portions are always generous, and always freshly cooked to order. We have never had a less than enjoyable dish there in ten years. Prices are good too (in April 2013) with most mains at around £9. We took my family, with three teenage girls, five other adults aged up to 61, and a 2 1/2 year old toddler. Every single one of us ate well. What more could you want? Jim McDonald, Dunblane.

The Westlands was the venue for our wedding in March 2013. We cannot thank Eve and her staff enough. The whole event was superb. The room was exceptional and tastefully decorated for the day. The meal afterwards was superb. Service was excellent throughout. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended
