We booked 2 nights DB&B as part of our wedding anniversary celebrations. Our room was very comfortable and more spacious than I expected. The restaurant offered a varied menu, food of an excellent standard and staff were attentive and professional. Downside - going to a separate building to the pool (although close by, it was rather wet all weekend so rather off putting) A recommendation - try the cocktails! Overall, a very relaxing stay and worth repeating!

We had the most amazing weekend which was a gift from our family. Food, service, entertainment, accommodation was faultless and the chocolates and card on arrival to our room was a lovely touch. Only downside to our visit was at check-in, check-out. There appeared to be a problem with the voucher we had received from our family and we had a 30 minute wait at reception while it was sorted out, (bit embarrassing as there were many people checking in) although the senior manager who had been asked to assist us was very apologetic . When we were checking-out it appeared the same problem had arose again but this time was swiftly dealt with by the same senior manager on the desk who again was very apologetic. Overall we will defiantly be back we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, relaxing atmosphere and friendly attentive staff.

Stayed in the hotel as part of a 2 day seminar. Room was spacious and clean, lovely decor however the bathroom needs upgrading (shower curtain dated, toilet flush was temperamental). WiFi in the rooms would have cost £15 for 24 hours, basic tea and coffee facilities. I would have expected more from a hotel of this standard. It is set in a picturesque setting and is a beautiful hotel with lovely public rooms. Our lunch was delicious on the first day and we had booked to eat in the hotel in the evening, food was lovely but we had been told they had a set price for 2 courses which they denied to honour. We asked for dessert at 10.30pm only to be told the kitchen closed at 10pm. It would have been nice to have been asked if we wanted anything else before the kitchen closed. This hotel has the potential but should not rely on previous reputation, there are so many other hotels going the extra mile nowadays which I feel you didn't give.

We had an amazing stay from driving up to the gorgeous property, interacting with a gracious and engaging staff, to an amazing dinner (kudos to the chef and dining room staff), and a wonderful night's rest. It is a hotel not to be missed!

Pleasant stay at the Hydro, visited this hotel on several occasions now and had mixed reviews in the past but on this occasion cannot fault anything, room was good, clean and tidy with mini bar and free safe as standard.
Reception staff pleasant and helpful although I never got the warm cookie this time.
Restaurant staff superb, looked after us very well and pleasant with it, nothing was to much trouble for them.
Food was good to, I went for the steak meal which carries a £7 supplement but well worth it and very tasty. The dessert I chose on this occasion was the trifle absolute divine.
Hotel also has a swimming pool and spa which is a 2mins walk away which is also great and is free to use.
If I did have a gripe it would be that the hotel should be supplying free wi-fi to all.
