Arrived to our room to find the last guests shoes and half drunk water in mini bar. Reception staff lovely after I complained and we got moved rooms, later to find out fuse had gone on lights so no power and our travel cot broken. Lights could only be fixed following morning, duty manager apologetic and willing to move us but it was 10pm and having a 9month baby and 6 year and moved already. Wasn't very practical. It took the 3rd travel cot to be a success.
Our meal in restaurant was lovely, all really enjoyed it.
On check out reception girl wasn't very nice, no apologies etc. was very let down on customer service.
Feel like there's a few things that could be done better before we return xx

An elegant country manor complemented by stylish, clean, spacious and modern rooms. On a sunny day such as the one we enjoyed, the views are spectacular. Superb breakfast too! If I was to be picky, the lift up to our room repeatedly ignored us and went to other floors, but I won't hold that against anyone! Highly recommended place.

A mixed bag from the Dunblane Hydro on our one night stay for dinner, bed and breakfast. Our front desk experience was efficient rather than welcoming and as a first point of contact needed to be improved. Excellent service in the restaurant, particularly from Nicola and the quality of the breakfast was very good. Most of the dinner was very tasty but my wife had to send back a starter which was poor. The room in the newer wing was in good condition but we found that housekeeping had not tidied up properly from the previous guests, leaving dirty cups and used soap and shower gel in the bathroom. We did contact room service and things were remedied and the duty manager was vey apologetic and organised a complimentary bottle of wine for our dinner. The hotel has an excellent location and could be a great place to stay but one or two details need to be sorted out. This final example probably gives you a picture of where the hotel is: in the bar before our dinner the waiter was very polite and offered to make a pina colada which wasn't on the drinks menu. However he returned to say that the hotel had run out of vanilla ice cream and so couldn't make the drink. Worth a return if the hotel can improve and live up to its own publicity.

Dunblane Hydro - We were looking forward to the trip and the hotel and location exceeded our expectations. The hotel was busy but this did not affect the excellent service and quality. Nick Nairn's restaurant was great the food was amazing and the service was exceptional. We booked a junior suit , and arrived to find we had been upgraded to the penthouse, with complementary wine and chocolates. A very very good weekend.

This Old famous hotel, has been sympathetically renovated, and modernised where applicable.
The rooms have excellent decor and are comfortably furnished together with up to date bathrooms. I love the large bath towels.

The bar and restaurant ar excellent with many interesting food items on the menu's.

I have a issue, and that is the star of the rear lift which on the ground floor has the push button assembly fixed to the wall with tape, and the doors together with the surrounds all in brush aluminium have not been cleaned for some time, and the bottom runners of the lift when the doors are open who a large build up dirt.

Another problem is the the fact there is only one lift and at times there is along wait.

I ave a blue badge but could not find a bat because there were cars without badges using the spaces, when I mentioned this i was told there really wasn't anything they could do.

Not what one expects from Doubletree

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the front main building as it is along walk to the rear

We booked this hotel to celebrate a 50th birthday. We had 2 very good meals in the Kailyard, however at lunchtime the service was slow and our plates were left on our table too long after completing our main meal. Service was very good for the evening meal. The real dampner was that there was no hot water the following morning before breakfast, so we could not have a bath or shower. I contacted reception but there was still no hot water until we checked out. Also right in the middle of breakfast we had to endure a fire alarm check that was part of procedures in the run up to various events this summer. The hotel gave their excuses that Police Scotland had prompted this.

I was disappointed to read about your unfortunate issue with hot water, please rest assured that this is an extremely rare occurrence as such I have forwarded your comments to Maintenance for a full investigation. We appreciate your patience during our recent evacuation drill, although evidently this was an inconvenience, such practises are in line with our Health and Safety obligations and helps us to maintain the necessary levels of response and efficiency required in the rare event of a full scale emergency situation.
