“Excellent food, pate is amazing”
Reviewed 18 November 2011

We have recently moved to the area and had heard food things about this pub. We went last Wednesday lunchtime for food and it was excellent. We were pretty much the only ones there but I’m sure at busier times there’s a lovely traditional country pub atmosphere. The food was great. We had pate to start and it was so good we asked where it was from, turns out that it’s the chef’s own recipe and he made it himself. We then had steak and ale pie, it’s a classic dish which although simple many still get wrong. It was fantastic; light pastry and great quality meat. It came with a huge side serving of vegetables too.

We sat in the main bar area but there’s a more formal dining room too which looked nice. Husband was impressed by ale selection too. Will definitely be back.

We were visiting Rockingham and wanted a good meal before heading home. The pub is really welcoming and the food in the restaurant is great and excellent value.

“Great food, great location”
Reviewed 30 August 2011

We eat here regularly and are never let down. Being a good cook myself I hate inferior food to that I serve or ping meals that are purported to be freshly cooked.
The Hatton food is lovingly cooked from scratch. There are two menu's that can be mixed and matched. The bar menu is a set price and the portion size will happily satisfy your appetite. The al a carte obviously more refined but always really tasty and filling. I love the chefs signature sticky toffee pudding but sadly normally have no space for it (unless on a Sunday when I force it down as part of set 3 courses, although you can chose 1 or 2!).
Yes there are cheaper places to eat around but none of the quality under a thatch roof overlooking the spectacular Welland Valley. I thoroughly recommend you try it but do book up. The pub is only small and has a small kitchen so it helps the chef plan if he knows what is ahead of him. I think booking for tables of 4 is now 'compulsory' as it is getting so popular.

“Off the beaten track but well worth finding”
Reviewed 13 August 2011

Fantastic village pub and restaurant in the village. The atmosphere was excellent as was the food. Well worth tracking down this restaurant which is just a few mile north of Corby.
