I've just attended a business networking lunch at the Holiday Inn in Corby. It was very well attended and the hospitality provided by the hotel was really good. A well organized event. The guest speaker was different and although overall was interesting some of things she said bearing in mind we were a mixed audience, made me feel a little uncomfortable at times. It wasn't just
Corby businesses that attended but a mixture from around the county and beyond.

Hi Janice

Many thanks for your feedback on our event. Its great to know that you enjoyed the Event and found the Hospitality very good. I do appreciate your comments with regard to the speaker but would ask you to bear in mind Hy was talking about her experiences starting in the 1950s, a very different time from the world we live in today! Once again many thanks for your review and taking the time to write it. We look forward to seeing you again on April 9th.

Thank you Janette and team for a thoroughly enjoyable few hours. Hy Money, the guest speaker, was inspirational, the food was fantastic, the conference room was light and airy and the facilities in general were very good. I look forward to the next event on 9th April!

Having made a booking for a party of 8 for 4 double rooms, back in September 2013, to attend the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner 2013, we were dismayed to discover that there was no record of the accommodation booking when we arrived to check in (despite the booking being made in person and two subsequent visits and a telephone call to the hotel to make sure everything was ok with the bookings). After showing the receptionist the booking receipt 4 rooms were eventually allocated, two of which were Twin rooms not the Doubles as we had booked.
Two couples had already checked into the double rooms and had the hassle with the booking, but when we arrived about an hour later, the remaining two couples were told that there was a problem with the electronic keys. After a wait of over an hour, we eventually got into the rooms.
We had less than an hour to get ready before the Gala evening was due to start, but soon discovered there was no hot water. One of the ladies in our party had been at work in the hospital since 6:30am and understandably wanted a hot bath. We advised reception and had to ring back down when no one called back as promised. We were told two different stories, one was there was a problem and it was being investigated, and they had just put the 2nd boiler on (Surely the boilers should be on constantly to provide the Guests with hot water when required).
We advised the Duty manager that we weren’t prepared to stay in the hotel as there was no guarantee of hot water and by this time the Evening was due to start in less than 15 mins. We also heard other people complaining to reception at the lack of hot water. We told him we required a full refund for the monies paid including the Gala Dinner. After some frustrating discussions he finally made a phone call and relented refunding the money.
After organising and preparing ourselves for the New Year celebrations (since September), we just had to return home with our New Year celebration plans in tatters.
We left feeling totally deflated and disgusted by the lack of organisation and professionalism at the Corby Holiday Inn.
As we live in Corby, this is an embarrassment and means that we could not recommend that any friends or relatives stay there.

Room Tip: Not recommended to stay at this hotel

Hi Gary,

I was disappointed and sorry to read about your experience on New Years Eve. The experience that you describe is more than disappointing, while the majority of the issues that you encountered were beyond our immediate control it obviously doesn't take away from the frustration of the whole experience, please accept my apologies for this. Whilst I fully understand your reason for leaving it is a shame you felt the need to do so as you can read below others enjoyed the food & service plus the hot water issue was resolved and the tanks were just heating up. Going forward the Hotel is just on the verge of undertaking a refurbishment which in addition to the Bedrooms and Public Areas will include a series of improvements to back of house areas that will alleviate many of the issues you describe.

Kind Regards

We stayed for 2 Nights over the New Year. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Disappointed with leisure facilities felt changing rooms needed refurbish and Steam room was not working.
Felt bar should have been attended all the time had to wait to be served on a couple of occasions. Slightly disappointed with Gala night on New Years Eve dance floor was too small though the food and service was great.

Room Tip: Higher floor quieter

Hi Tony,

Many thanks for your review of our Hotel. Having read your comments I can tell you that the Hotels Leisure changing rooms will be refurbished in February along with much of the rest of the facility. Your experience with the Steam room was disappointing, the Holiday period made it difficult to obtain parts till after the New Year but the Steam Room is now fully operational. I have also noted your comments with regard to the Dance Floor, it is always difficult to strike a balance as a bigger dance floor means less guest seating and fewer guests means no need for such a big dance floor! I am pleased to see that you found the staff friendly & helpful and on that basis we hope to welcome you back to the Hotel in the near future.

Many Thanks

We had to stay in this hotel as everyone were booked here overnight for the wedding party held at the masonic lodge, Corby. My partner and I booked a suite room and was surprised to find a bottle of wine and a letter in the table upon entering our room. The set-up was actually addressed to the couple who will be wed and there seemed to have been a mixed up with the hotel rooms assigned to every guests. There wasn't enough staff in the reception on the wedding day and it took so long for all the guests to get their room keys too. On the positive side, our suite room was actually very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bath size was fantastic and the bathroom was spacious as well. Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choices. It was not the best hotel in the area, but it was definitely worth the value of money we paid for 3 nights.

Dear Renjie,

Many thanks for your review of the Hotel. I was disappointed to read the comments with regard to check-in speed and these will certainly be investigated. On a positive note I am pleased you liked the room and found the Breakfast to your liking. Everybody at the Hotel hopes you enjoyed the Wedding you attended and we do hope you would visit us again should you return to the area. Once again many thanks for the review.
