We spent nearly 3hours here midweek with the kids. Was Easter holidays for us (but not the local kids) so parking was easy and it was quite quiet. £3 for all day parking is a bargain.

We wanted somewhere that we could bike with the kids - that would challenge the 9yo but be ok for the 5yo......and on the whole; this was it.

We did the 6 mile round family cycle path. Certain bits were too steep for the youngest but 70% was fine for her.
We brought our own bikes but there was a shop on site that hired bikes, helmets, etc if you needed them. They seemed to be in good condition.

There was a play area near the cafe/ bike shop which the kids loved and then a tree house area about 1km away which was also good and well maintained.

We will be back if we are in the area again, and might do one of the well marked walking trails next.

We stopped here on our way up north as a good place for the kids to run around and get some exercise. Lovely location and beautiful red kites but unimpressed with the rude man (manager?) in the cafe who overheard the girl serving us say that they had run out of jacket potatoes. Instead of apologising to us, he put the girl down by saying 'we haven't run out, we've sold out'. Better customer service would have been to apologise to us, remove the menu sign about potatoes and speak to the girl privately.

Lovely natural park for the kids. Would happily have spent more time at the forest.

Lovely place for a family walk and cycle ride- lots of tracks of different grades for different abilities, 2 play areas and a picnic area. Parking costs £3 but after that how much you spend is up to you, there's a small cafe and a big cycling shop. Toilets could be cleaner but that's the risk of busy places on warm days, and there's a tap for free drinking water. A great place to visit.

A good place to go for walks, cycling and spotting red kites. Cafe is okay, was fairly busy when we went, but staff seemed to cope with the numbers. Was disappointed to find that the visitor centre is no longer here and the two main shops, selling bicycles and outdoor kit were very expensive. The three craft stalls were a bit odd, but all in all not too bad.

Visited here after at least a year's gap. And what an improvement all round. More walks, well signposted (though we did miss the sign for the hide and were. redirected back!). Off road cycling technical loops. Lovelt place. Agree with 'floppyarms' go to royal Oak duddington, just up the road, for a warm welcome and lovely food. (see my review).
