“What a find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

Looking at house prices in the local estate agents, I thought this might be millionaires' row. But here is a beautiful pub with friendly staff, serving really good quality grub at everyday prices. There are several different rooms, with a spacious ambience, a rear garden, a front terrace and places for both kids and adults to play. The menu is pizza, pasta, burger, salads and specials - so something for everyone. We started by sharing a plate of foccacia with oil and balsamic and some colourful olives and roasted peppers. then a veggie pizza, steak and chips and, for me, crab and chilli risotto. That was light and juicy, meaty and piquant. Mmmm. Can't comment on the others, except to say all plates were cleared. Service was really good, both friendly and conscientious. And where else will one of your entourage ask for green candy floss for dessert, and get it, gratis, with a smile?

“The best mid-range restaurant in Cobham”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

It's easy to say 'service was good', but to find proper attentive, personal service like this - and at these very reasonable prices - is a genuine surprise these days. There's nothing not to like here. The hardest working staff in Surrey manage to get a quart into your pint pot, and at pint prices! I'm put in mind of the staff of Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons (Raymond Blanc), but at a fraction of the outlay. For a friendly Friday night (or any other time), that doesn't leave you with indigestion, why go anywhere else? And remember to tip the staff in cash - they deserve every penny!
