The location is in a really nice setting on a sunny day. There were lots of children, but that is because it seems an informal, welcoming place. I was looking for a light lunch, and I had a very nice one, though I wouldn't choose to eat here if I was hungry.

Visited The Medicine Garden today for the first time. Enjoyed a healthy lunch in the Hothouse Café where the staff were welcoming and friendly, then a meander round the little shops and back to sit in the sunny courtyard outside the cafe enjoying a cuppa and cake. Looking forward to going again soon.

I've gone there twice and both times it was full of mothers and their children running around. If that's for you then fine but if you want to go and have a decent meal forget it.

This is a place my husband and I discovered while driving around town. The Medicine Garden as a whole is so beautiful, and all the shops it has are very nice. I have bought a lot of antiques in the antiques shop Artefacts.
We decided to have brunch at The Hot House. I had a simple ham and cheese sandwich and, as simple as it can be, it was super delicious. My husband ordered the sausage and bacon ciabatta, and he enjoyed it a lot as well. The whole atmosphere of the place is magical.

I would recommend this place. Go there, take a look at the different shops, and enjoy a nice coffee and cake here.

We attended a wedding here in dark cold wet January. The venue is perfect for a small event with a section that can be closed off for privacy. The staff were charming and attentive and the food and ambiance were perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and the wedding party could circulate and mix easily.

If you want silver service and starched linen you'd need to ask as it's a more relaxed and country kitchen set up but don't let that put you off holding a party here as it's quite unique and very bespoke.
