“Always amazing food”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 via mobile

My girlfriend and I went here on a Sunday evening with children and were not disappointed, have been before a number of years ago but I had forgotten how good the seafood is.
Started with oysters then the seafood tagliatelle with a side bowl of shellfish and all was extremely good and fresh. No complaints on the service, used a 25% off voucher so was also very reasonable (not that it is too pricey to begin with in our opinion).
Highly recommend to couples and families alike.

“Not the place for Al Fresco dining”
Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

A Monday lunchtime visit found the restaurant not very full, but it still took quite some time for our first course to arrive.
The set menu is good value although the main menu can be quite expensive with mains around £15-20.

The restaurant may advertise al fresco dining, but don't come for that unless you like eating at the equivalent of the central reservation of a major motorway! It's beside a very busy, and noisy, main road with just a hedge between the diners and the road.

“A good first experience let down with small details”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 via mobile

This was our first Loch Fyne experience so we didn't know quite what to expect.
We booked a weekday and at 7.45pm and glad we did as it was very busy.
The welcoming (an important first indication) was hurried and somewhat perfunctory but we were seated at a Table very close to the next table which, at first was unoccupied.
The Waiter was slow to attend to our needs and had to command his attention just to get some tap water.
So the early stages were not impressive.
We received the Menu and decided to order quickly and were happy with our choices.
The potted peppered smoked mackerel starter was excellent.
My wife elected for Mussels which were very nice but the juice was like dishwater so very disappointing.
However all things being equal the meal - overall - was good and the Service gradually improved.
Inevitably early on the adjacent was taken and the couple were quite loud which, if their Table wasn't quite so close, would have mattered less.
We did enjoy the meal but felt that attention to some smaller details would have made it a better experience.
As an aside in Cobham it has adequate Car Parking and the "gardens" are kept in good order.

“Dinner on a Summer Evening”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Two of us chose the three course set menu which was delicious - the dab fish in particular was fabulous and perfectly cooked. The only tiny complaint was that the sauce to accompany the starter of crab cakes was too runny. The other person in our party chose from the a la carte menu and had mussels and the prawn masala. Portion size was spot on. Service was excellent and the restaurant was buzzing. I would certainly recommend Loch Fyne.

“Brilliant value set menu!”
Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

The set menu is the reason to come here otherwise it's expensive. The food is very good and the service adequate. Really great two course lunch for £10.50. I come regularly and am never disappointed.
