“disabled NOT frendly”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 December 2013

Having lived in St Helens I thought to treat myself to a trip to the dream what a mistake I use a mobility scooter to get around all the entrance stiles were never constructed with disabled in mind I only managed to get in with the help of 4 strong lads who carried my scooter over the stile for me when we did get to the dream it was fenced off and looked like a building site I have contacted the relevant departments in charge by email never even replied up close it does look like a male erection

“A wonderful piece in an unlikely setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2013

We visited The Dream soon after it was erected (ignore the Trip Advisor Dec 2012 date - the form made us put something) and absolutely loved it. The story of how the community in this ex-mining area wanted something forward looking and uplifting, rather than a piece of 'industrial heritage', was genuinely moving. It's depressing the learn from other reviews that it has been vandalised but I would still urge people to have a look. I fondly hope that local people will keep their dreams alive.

“Phallus of the North”

Anyone that rates this so call dream as anything better than poor needs to go to specsavers.
Another great decision by St Helens council to allow this plan.
Mis guided
Bad idea

“Sad end product for an inspirational idea.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

This attraction, quite simply does not work. Sited on a former spoil heap of a decommissioned coal mine the area is plagued by every shade of humanity that you would not want frequenting the area of a tourist attraction. Lack of investment adds to the problem. This is reflected in the physical depreciation of the artwork itself (I would imagine quite a serious problem in the medium term), and the uninviting surrounding area. Until such time as considerably more investment is made available, this attraction is for the extreme enthusiast only. This is not Lancashire's answer to the 'Angel of the North'. Far from it. View it from the nearby M62 Motorway while you can. The growth of the surrounding trees, or the dismantling of the structure (whichever comes first) will eventually prevent it. So much potential, badly managed!

“Don't bother”

Only gave this 1 as there isn't a negative scale on here. Always covered in graffiti and once you get there the best thing to do is turn around and go back home.
