Stayed for 2 nights in July 14 rooms clean, beds comfy ,good air conditioner which was needed as room got very hot without it and there are no openable windows a shame the pool and spa area was not open I believe there is work going on , the only guests we saw were builders beside us . The reception area a bit shabby the glass entrance was covered in notices telling us it's glass which did seem a bit too much , had breakfast 1st day it was certainly not worth £10.00 per person no eggs till we asked then dried out scrabbled done in the microwave sausages tasted old and all was cold 2nd day walked in the shopping arcade and had a lovely breakfast for half the price, the location is good as it's the only town centre hotel I would stay again only for location but would only do room only.

Room Tip: 2 floor rooms were quiet but hot.but had good air conditioner

Returning back from Greece with our 2 cats and wondering where we could stay for 2 / 3 nights . Contacted Chalon Court Hotel as we needed somewhere central to St Helens. Cats were accepted which was a really nice surprise and took a lot of stress away. The room ( think it was not the most expensive) but it was very nice , fresh and clean. The bed itself felt very luxurious , we also had breakfast there and it was very nice and staff very helpful and pleasant . So I would certainly recommend this Hotel .

Room Tip: We were on a high floor which was better, traffic outside to see but hardly any noise .

Stayed for one night last week as part of a group. Excellent check in and rooms are spacious and modern. Bathroom very clean. A point to note is that it still states Park Hotel outside. Breakfast on a Sunday starts at 8 pm which is a little late but all freshly cooked and plenty of choice. Very friendly staff.

I recently stayed for seven nights while visiting family. My room was very comfortable and newly refurbished. The king-size bed was comfortable - not too soft and not too hard. Bathroom was very clean, neat and tidy. Plenty of electrical outlets for charging computers and devices. Although the window could not be opened the air conditioning was efficient and kept the room nice and cool on the warmer days. Breakfast buffet spread was just OK although the cooked breakfasts (especially the omelets) were excellent. Did not eat dinner at the restaurant although I did see several people in the small restaurant each evening. Staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful. I would definitely consider staying again next time I'm in town. Don't worry about the exterior - it looks like this is the subject of planned refurbishment.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the elevators on the third floor are likely to be more quiet

The hotel a short walk from St Helen's Central station. There are helpful directions on the website, although it would make more sense for them to be under the 'find us' section rather than where they are currently. There is plenty of parking available in front of the hotel.

The staff in the reception and the restaurant clearly work very hard and seemed more than happy to help with any requests we had.

The rooms are huge and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. There was a warning notice in the bathroom about fluctuating water temperatures while the new boiler is being fitted, however I didn't experience any problems with this.

There is a bar and restaurant in the hotel which are very reasonably priced (£12.95 for 3 courses in the restaurant!).

Lots of choice at breakfast with cooked breakfasts made to order.

I would stay again if in the area.

First its worth mentioning that if your travelling to this hotel by car using the post codes on the web site then your likely to end up on the wrong side the river at the back of the hotel & will have to travel 3 miles back town to get to the front as it seems that St Helens have been altering the roads & traffic flow ( I would just get the post code for " THE RANGE " home & leisure shop & the hotel is right next door ). The Hotel is also still called the PARK INN on the ouside of the building, but dont be fooled, this is your hotel. The lobby is a bit dated & appears to be half way through refurbishment , the pool & gym were closed, worth checking before you book if you want to use these, the staff are extremely helpful although they are clearly rushed of their feet at breakfast, they could do with a few small gadgets to help them along such as a trolley to clear tables, a coffee/ tea machine & if possible some better way for the guests to get their bran from the large bown into a small breakfast bowl as a small spoon just didnt work out for me, a tupaware breakfast tub might just be the way forward here I'm thinking, also they could do with adding eggs to the buffet selection as these are made to order unlike the bacon, mushrooms & beans, which caused a bit of a problem with everyone watching ready to pounce on the next unsuspecting member of staff carry a plate of eggs across the dining room, once you get your food its lovely. Now for the good points, the staff clearly care about the customers here & the rooms are spacious, well presented & modern, the beds are brilliant ( slept like a log ) & the hotel quiet & central, I would recommend staying here & when the refurbishment is finished I'm sure it will rivel some of the best in the area.

This was a weekend break by coach to visit Chester and the Manchester Ship Canal.Because the hotel is still marked Park Inns, our driver, unfortunately drove straight past. After turning round and driving back to the hotel, because of the design of the car park (which I might add was almost empty) our driver not only had great difficulty getting onto the car park but found it very awkward to turn the coach around because of the tree -lined avenue. Obviously not coach friendly. The bedroom was reasonable, but, no opening windows and it was a very hot weekend. Thank goodness the air-con was working.Dinner was timed for 7.30, we went to the bar first to get a drink, and were met by 2 more coach parties and only 2 bar staff serving, this took 20 minutes to get a drink. We then went into the dining room only to be given a different menu to the one we had in the bedroom. There were 4 staff taking orders for approx. 80 diners. but because of the apparent lack of serving staff the meal was not finished until 9.45pm ! An early breakfast had been arranged as we were leaving at 8.30am.Cereals,drinks and toast were already available, but the buffet hot food did not appear until later - eggs did not make an appearance until we had left the table! Having said all of this the food itself could not be faulted. To finish we feel that this hotel at the moment is unable to cope with coach parties.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else
