Freshly cooked, interesting meals that are much more than the usual pub fayre, some great seasonal specials too that means there's usually something new.

Not many tables and usually quite a flow of people creates a nice atmosphere, only complaint would be cost if choosing to drink alcohol, but this is a minor issue as good george wright bottled beers available.

We eat here all the time and the food is consistently fantastic! Head chef John & his team work hard to offer seasonal menu options, specials that change daily and big hearty portions to satisfy even the biggest appetites. Everything I've ever had is delicious- tasty, hot and presented beautifully. I can particularly recommend the Sunday roast, steak and ale pie and the burgers are out of this world. One visit and I guarantee you'll be hooked!

We have visited Fir Tree Farm many times and the food is always very good. They do delicious soups and the portions are very big. Today we had the potato, chicken and leek soup, there was loads of chicken in it and it really filled us up, no need for a mains! The soup is £4.75 but for the size of the portion it is well worth it. We have had various main courses in the past and have always enjoyed them.
There is seating outside both at the front and back. Inside there is seating both downstairs and upstairs but there aren't that many tables and it does get quite packed at lunch times.
The shop is small but has some nice local produce, cards and various nik naks.
The walk round the fields and woodland is delightful especially when the wild flowers are in bloom. They also keep two cute alpacas. It is quite good for birdwatching too.
We would recommend Fir Tree Farm for a nice drive out to the countryside and lovely food.

Just been for lunch with some friends, lovely fresh locally sourced food beautifully cooked and presented. Have been several times now and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Give it a try if you are in the area.

Me and the mrs stopped off here by change one sunny winters afternoon and I've been meaning to review it because it was so nice, I can't remember exactly what we ate, but I do remember the home made lentil and butternut squash soup, it was heaven!

Give it a try and aka away some local produce while your there!
