“A lovely hideaway with a touch of European!”
Reviewed 13 July 2012 via mobile

We stayed here for one night on 30th June as a stopover. As a Couple travelling with mother we had the top floor suite in the main building for the three of us which was ideal, other than too many stairs for mum. Lovely bedrooms, clean and comfy. There are no other restaurants nearby (the hotel is actually in Parson, about 20 min drive south of Golden and set back uphill from the main highway) so we decided to chill out after a long drive and just eat there rather than drive back to Golden. The food was a set 3 course menu for $29 but the host was flexible with this (made me something else as I don't like seafood and that was on the menu that night!) She made a lovely pork tenderloin in sauce instead and my husband assures that the seafood was lovely too!) Relaxing atmosphere, the hosts have worked hard to keep a touch of their European heritage which makes this quite a unique place to stay!!

“Love This Place”
Reviewed 4 August 2011

Timber Inn Restaurant is one of my favourite places. Marianne does an incredible job cooking up a feast for you. It is a short drive from Golden..about 20 minutes but it is worth it. On a warm evening, sit on the deck and enjoy the fabulous view of the Columbia River. The food is always fabulous with a variety of meats, salads, fresh vegetables, home-made bread and herb butter. On Sundays during the summer they have a outdoor oven where they cook all their meats. $29 per person for all you can eat. It is such a great atmosphere. Good wholesome German food with a slice of Canadiana thrown in. Love it.

“Hint of Europe”
Reviewed 23 June 2011

We stayed in one of the honeymoon chalets. Had a jacuzzi and a woodburner. Firewood is complementary. Very cosy. Owners are very friendly. Enjoyed the chats with Rainer. You have the option to have a fixed diner and a hot breakfast for 39 dollars. All home grown and organic. We actually got to this place on recommendation by the Golden visitor info. It is a wee bit of a drive south of Golden (30 min), but it is well worth it. Enough activities and attractions around Golden, also in winter as we learned from photos Rainer showed us.

“Amazing B&B!!”
Reviewed 29 September 2009

We stayed here for one night on our way to Kelowna and wished we could have stayed for more! The lodge is beautiful and the rooms in the lodge are spacious and comfy with country log furniture and soft sheets. The owners are a very friendly German couple who also run the restaurant and for $30 you get a 4 course supper and hot breakfast the next morning and the food is AWESOME- All homemade and garden grown - There is also German beer on tap there to try which was great. The location is beautiful for a quiet relaxing stay. There is a rail road nearby but we didn't hear the train at all. It is about a 30 min drive from Golden so don't expect to be running into Golden for quick pick ups or things like that.
