“A gem : a brilliant place to stay!”
Reviewed 3 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The cottage (adapted from an old barn, so mind your head as you walk in!) is very comfortable, with all mod cons. The setting is idyllic, right alongside a babbling brook, where you can sit out and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. We were invited to pick soft fruit and use the bicycles for free, and Sue was very willing to point out places of interest, off the beaten track, and good local restaurants. She also showed us round her studio : fascinating! And there are wooden carvings to admire in the extensive riverside land that Sue & Gary own. A wonderful holiday : we should have booked for a second week!

“Honeymoon retreat”

Stayed here on the 4th of July for a honeymoon retreat. Sue and Gary were amazing hosts. The cottage itself was very clean and tidy. You can tell there was a lot of time, effort and thought put into it. Central to the cottage was a woodburner with a ready supply of wood which gave it a homely feel and kept it warm. The bathroom was immaculate and easy to work all the fixtures. Kitchen is fitted out with everything you need with a reasonable sized fridge.
The highlight for us was the woodburner and huge bed. Such a good excuse to spend the whole day inside.
The surrounding area is ripe for exploring with tea rooms not far down the road. The location pretty much guarantees a good nights sleep.
We loved it and would recommend it to anyone
