This is a very welcoming local pub which has one of the most varied 'pub grub' menus going.
Lots of branded pubs include a mix of things like fajitas, steaks and pies but The Hatchet is all about home cooking - not boil in the bag.
The price per meal is a bit high but a main meal includes a mix of sides - veg/ salad and potatoes/chips - this is pretty good going.
Steak night - 2 4 1 - and the Sunday roasts are great.
It gets busy and parking can be tight but this is a real local and a good country food pub.
