“Terrible”
Reviewed 26 August 2012 via mobile

We got room 309 which had 5 beds, although we were only 2, me and my wife, then as it was up in the attic, I insisted to change it and we got a VERY small room, service is terrible, at breakfast they ran out of most of the food, even cups for tea, I asked for one and was never brought to me, I would not rate this 3 stars hotel

The hotel seem to be new renovetade. The rooms are modern and clean with a flat screen tv. The restaurant offers very good traditional food and service was friendly and helpfull. We where for a weekend trip there and we realy enjoy it. If you just cross the street you would see the roman excavations.

We stayed there a place close to Vienna and Bratislava, since we were going to visit both cities. Located in a very small village, it was a nice relaxing place. The breakfast was so nice with everything included. The staff were nice and polite. It had a bar/restaurant that we used for night. The room was not so clean, we found a dirty ear cleaner in the room. The internet was so so slow for a place in the middle of Europe was not expected.
During the night two buses arrived, one with Romanian plate another Solvakian which made the hotel super crowded. We will stay in the same place, if we are to visit Vienna or Bratislava.

The positive points:
The room was nice, modern and clean (although in the morning I found long black hair behind the door in the bathroom...and my gf is blond!). The bed was big, 2 single mattresses put together (2x90cm). The hotel has a really nice wine basement and the food at the restaurant is more than decent (unlike the service unfortunately), at a decent price and they have an English menu. The 'manager' at the reception is friendly and speaks good English.
The negative points:
There was a third single bed in the room and the room would have been much nicer without it (although it didn't really bother us too much, we simply used it to put our suitcases on as there was nothing else provided). The pillows were really thin and we didn't find any others in the room (we should have gone to the reception but we didn't bother, we were tired and it was just for one night). There was a strong smell of sewer in the bathroom as we came in but it seemed to have disappeared in the morning (or we got used to it). Everything looked clean, apart from the long black hair behind the door in the bathroom!
And last but not least, we arrived at the restaurant at 6.20pm and when they saw us, one of the waiter told the other one (in Slovak, which my gf speaks, unfortunately for them) "you will see, those 2 want to eat too" (in not a nice way at all!). When she told him "Yes, we would like to eat, where can we sit" and he realised that she speaks Slovak and understood him, he became all nice and we had his full attention...

Marc Aurel is a very good choise because it has nice and clean rooms, all at a very good price for Wien area.
It is in a very quiet area, next to Roman ruins (Petronell Carnantum) and also close to a natural park of the river Danube. Here we saw wild rabbits and also wild deers!
It also have roads for bycicles.
One more advantage: here the parking is free. And you can go to Wien by car or by train (at least one at every hour). And a 48 hours ticket for all Wien public transportation (train to Wien included) is 10 euro.
