ah what a service and so friendly, just wonderful! we ate really good there, slept deep and sound and had such good conversations with the owner and his family staff. the most friendly ever!
they also have a evening bar in the hotel called, burgkeller, where the only downside is that you can smoke there as well, but even as none smoker it is worth a visit.
i highly recommend this hotel for a all around good experience. and if you do come here make sure you eat the kaiserschmarn (local austrian desert which is outstanding here!!!).

Room Tip: you want to have a room with donau view! then you also have a balcony, which is so lovely in good weather. and the view is stunning!

I stayed at the Rose Hotel for one night as part of a tour package, and I was so disappointed that it was only the one night - the hotel is lovely, the rooms are lovely, the views are stunning, the staff is kind and helpful, and the restaurant serves delicious food. I cannot possibly recommend this hotel enough.

Old world style with stunning views of the Danube. We stayed one night as a family (two rooms since we have three teenage boys). We had a most lovely dinner on the patio with stunning views watching the sun set. This hotel was booked for us by the bike company and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Perfect after a day of biking and sightseeing. Close to Mauthausen (concentration camp which is very interesting!) and Melk Abbey. Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a view of the Danube.

Stayed here as part of a bike tour along the Danube and what a view. Nasty climb on the bike to get there - they provide a van if you want a lift - it is a 15% grade average. Nice clean hotel. Old style hotel with smallish rooms but it was well thought out and clean. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to find me some chain lube. Restaurant is excellent in the evening and average in the morning. Stay on the balcony for the evening meal if possible. We got to watch some hot air balloons float across the Danube while we ate. Go check out the church nearby. A neat little village high on a hill overlooking a beautiful valley.
