A Nice place to visit, had An educational open air good time! Enough shade when sunny because of the trees and the way the houses were scattered throughout the domain. The only downside were the expensive souvenirs - sweets - bakery products. The kids want to go back Soon for further Discovery of the domain and large playground

I have visited this place several times now, it's a great way to spend a lovely afternoon. Great to go back in time, and see how they lived. Various houses you can access, and they even have a small shop, where you can buy food made to old recipes. Bokrijk also has a great park for kids, we have spent many a sunny day here, the park also has a small shop, a tavern type place and a snack bar which cooks great fries!...the children's park is free, but you do have to pay for parking in the grounds, around 5 euro, well worth it.

It shows Belgium culture very well. You can spent anything from a hour to half a day there depending on how much time you have. It's so relaxing walking around there. I loved the piglets walking around. If you can't walk everywhere, they have a hop on hop off facility.

We love this park with it's beautiful old houses. In some of the houses people live as they lived 150 years ago, nice to see the way they lived. There is a small school, the priest holds a sermon and the policeman is there to punish the "bad" guys. There are "arguments" in the village centre as reenactments. Fun to watch even though those are in flemish.
Plenty of space for kids to run around. There are different activities during the year.
There is a restaurant in the main square and a smaller one in the West and a cafe just behind the church. There is a candy shop and an ice cream stand. You can not buy water or other soft drinks and water, so my advice, bring your own drinks and some snacks and a blanket.
There are activities for children.

'Bokrijk' is a museum that has earned its merrits without much effort. It started with the genius of a provincial governer (Roppe) and since the '50's Bokrijk had grown into a mature institute with old houses (18-19th century) and a wild nature surrounding it.
When in Limburg Bokrijk should surely be on your list 'to see'
