Himmelbjerget is claimed to be the highest point in Denmark, thus the background for selecting this site for a visit, and given a hotel is available on the spot, looking very attractive from the hotel homepage, we decided to try it out. Considering July to be a peak holiday season, we thought the place would be crowded. To our surprise it was very quiet, in fact we were the only guests in the hotel!! The facilities seems to date back to the early fifties or even before that, so for people favouring a quiet area in an old fashion style, this is it. The surroundings are filled with historical monuments including a tower on the highest spot (being closed while we were there), but the whole area appeared to soon become history if someone is not doing something to upgrade the site. It is a pity, as the opportunities seems great.
