If you are visiting the Thalasso, you'll want to stay here (or at the Novotel on the opposite side.) I found the hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. Really, just super nice people. The hotel is not glamorous, but it does the job. There's plenty of parking.

There are a couple of things to be aware of: in a heat wave, you'll wish you had some air-conditioning. We were there in 30+ degrees and it was a little stifling during the day, but it seems to cool down at night, so then you just have to keep the curtains drawn during the day.

The building is beginning to show wear on the sea side. I suppose the salt air makes it a never-ending challenge. Same with sand. The staff seemed to be constantly clearing away sand tracked in by guests from the adjacent beach.

If you are not going to the spa or spending a lot of time at the beach, stay somewhere else in Le Touquet. It's a long walk from the spa hotels to the center of town. If you're not fit, you'll probably even have to drive if you want to go have dinner there.

Room Tip: The hotel is situated at the end of the boardwalk. Rooms 423-428 (as I recall) do not have balconies...

Great location, shame about the room. This place is need of a makeover. The view is great but the service a bit weird. My French is not brilliant but I do try and I hate the fact that one waitress wandered off and sent her colleague to take our order because she's failed to understand what I wanted.

Cannot wait to leave this place!

The floor is full of sand, there's cobwebs everywhere, the dirty balcony is filthy and the room stinks of smoke.

We booked this for our last night in France and to break our journey up travelling from St Malo to Calais. I solely booked this hotel for swimming pool, after many hours stuck in the car, we thought it would be lovely for our little boy to cool off in the pool. Got there, walked the good 5 minute walk to the room, got changed, walked backed to the reception asked for the pool, response was.. FERMÉ and the rude lady (short blonde hair) behind the counter pointed to a piece of paper stuck to the wall...in complete French! I asked how long for and she sighed and pointed to the sign again and talking fast French. She knew I was English and knew I wouldn't be able to understand what she was saying. We paid €134 for this room and to say the whole experience of staying at the 'hotel' has put a downer on our trip is an understatement. We always stay in Ibis because it's a name we trust, but this hotel gives them a bad name. Awful and overpriced.
