“Needs better air-conditioning”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

We reserved two rooms - one for single occupancy and one for 2 adults and a teenager. Check- in was efficient and friendly and the rooms were fine. They were not particularly large or exciting (we had dune vue rooms to the rear of the hotel) but they were bright and clean. Our only complaint was that both rooms were far too hot and that there seemed to be no way of making them any cooler. Opening the (small) windows made little difference. I did mention this when we checked out and got the impression that it had been said before!
Breakfast was good - a wide choice in the restaurant with beautiful views. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening.
Le Touquet is a great town. I would also recommend a visit to St. Valéry-sur-Somme which is a short drive away.

Room Tip: You may feel it is worth paying for a stunning sea-view.

Stayed here many times and just enjoyed another 2 night stay with our 2 kids. Excellent

The hotel never really changes - odd looking from the outside, clean and tidy inside, great bar with terrific views. Bedrooms clean basic Novotel - all fine

Then there is the decking leading onto the fantastic beach - amazing place to sit especially if the weather is good. Nowhere to beat it in Le Touquet. - kids and adults love it

There is also the bonus of the swimming pool

I see there are comments about the restaurant - personally I've never used it. Why would you when there are a number of privately owned French restaurants (that are much better value) within 10 minutes walk?

Will be back

We stayed at the hotel for three nights in April having stayed five times before. It didn't disappoint. Although the hotel is not cheap, the rooms quite simple and small, and the restaurant is expensive, with good weather the hotel is amazing. You cannot beat sitting on your balcony in April at 9 pm watching the sun set on the beach or watching two city teenagers running around on the beach with a cerf-volant (new french word of the holiday - kite) or shopping in the posh pick n. mix in town like small children.

We were two adults and two teenagers and really you need two rooms. To try and fit in one room using a sofa bed doesn't work. The 3 night trip booking in advance on line with 2 rooms overlooking the sea, breakfast on three mornings and dinner on one evening cost over £1000 which is not cheap but worth it on balance.
The service in the restaurant has slipped slightly since our last visit with coffee at breakfast from a machine rather than freshly served at the table. Dinner when the hotel is busy is slightly chaotic and haphazard - steak ordered with chips was delivered with mash potatoes. Also the beds although a decent size are poor.

But the location sells it. The hotel was very busy and undoubtedly we will be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the middle floor so room number 2xx

I booked this hotel for a short family break, several weeks ago. Having read some recent scathing reviews on trip advisor, I was getting extremely nervous and worried about what we would find. I need not have worried at all. We arrived very early but the hotel receptionists were very friendly and welcoming and offered to call us when the rooms were ready. Sure enough they did. We had booked a second room for our children and, as requested on booking, the room was situated next to ours. The rooms are clean, well appointed and whilst not huge ( except for the family room that the hotel upgraded pur children to, which is large) perfectly acceptable, having obviously been quite recently re painted. I would certainly recommend a sea facing view- definitely worth the extra money.
We haven't used the spa yet but it looks good. Great location- close enough to walk into Le Touquet but far enough to be quiet. Would definitely come again- it is almost as if the earlier, disgruntled reviewers had been to a different hotel. This is a great choice for a family break.

We spent only one night at this hotel. The location is beautiful and the views over the beach are amazing. The restaurant's buffet is pretty decent, with fresh sea food.
Even though we loved the view from our room, the bed was really bad. The mattress was way too soft, it felt old and really used. We could feel what I think it was the structure of the bed itself, through the mattress.
The swimming pool is nice, but when we tried to get more information about the spa treatments and etc, there wasn't anybody there to help us.
There's no direct access to the beach.
The city center is within walkable distance.

This hotel is terrible.

I booked three rooms, but when I arrived they said I only had two. Even after showing the proof of booking they refused to acknowledge I had booked three rooms (although to be fair they did find a third room.)

I sent numerous emails to the hotel prior to my arrival with requests, all of which were ignored.

The restaurant is pathetic. The menu is bland at best and the wine list leaves a lot to be desired. This is France???

The hotel rooms are shabby and are in desperate need of modernisation. Perhaps they could even go so far as to install air conditioning?

I am a member of the Accor club and they describe Novotel as being one of the better hotels. I think I would have preferred to stay in the cheaper Ibis next door.

The location, however, is excellent. The hotel is right on the beach. They are also dog friendly (but not in the restaurant)
