What a great little bar, we have sat outside and relaxed with a cocktail & cold beer many a time here.
We have our 2 children with us and it's so relaxed.
Great coffee also.
Amazing shops both sides so can have a little shop while the OH relaxes in the sunshine with great music

Stopped in for a few drinks whilst on a weekend in Le Touquet, very warm welcome and a lovely bar with lots of atmosphere. We ended up sitting out the front watching the world go by. Well worth a visit!

If you are looking for a bar that is an institution in Le Touquet look no further than Algys bar. It is not in the tourist centre of town and it is frequented more by local people than by tourists. How great to find a bar with real history! In the 1930s, Algy's Bar was THE select bar in Le Touquet. Its English owner Mr Ballenger was well known for his jovial nature and the strength and quality of his cocktails. In May 1940, (the day of the German invasion), the pilots of the Royal Air Force who were based in Le Touquet were enjoying the hospitality in Algys Bar to such great effect that when they finally made it back to their base not one of their RAF planes had been left standing. The Luftwaffe had destroyed them all. There is a cocktail named after this event and still served today - its called the Spitfire. Katy runs the bar today and remembers her grandfather drinking there in the 1960s.We were bowled over by the friendliness of the place as you can see and it was nice to get away from the usual tourist bars.
