I booked a few rooms for a family party. We were more than disappointed by the attitude esp of the reception personnel (head of reception). Very unfriendly and rude. The location is great, so the opportunity is there. But execution is bad. Not recommended!

Bruchsee hotel is definitely the best hotel in Heppenheim and the hotel has a stunning waterfront location. The rooms are all outdated and some bathrooms are still in the 70's style. The ambience is a typical business hotel. The mini bar does not contain any drinks, these you need to order and pay prior to getting the mini bar filled with your choice of drinks.

The restaurant has been nicely redone and the food is tasty and good - it is also the most expensive restaurant in Heppenheim. But at the end of a hectic day it is cosy to enjoy a superb meal in the restaurants and their steaks are superb!

They are famous for the Sunday brunches, so book in advance if you want to enjoy this fabulous breakfast!

Great place to enjoy walks and to go jogging.

Room Tip: Choose a room with lake view. If you would like a balcony then avoid rooms on the 3rd floor.

We managed to run away from our busy lives for a Friday to Sunday break and decided to combine it with a wine buying session. The hotel's situation is gorgeous and so peaceful. Heppenheim has a wonderful old city centre, but it is very touristy and this hotel allows you to enjoy Heppenheim at its best, without tripping over tourists. The rooms are being updated constantly and we had a great room with a very comfortable bed. They also have a super sauna and relaxing area which we made use of for free on both days. Bliss! The restaurant was very good with an excellent selection of wines and the service couldn't have been improved on. The breakfast buffet was a real eye-opener. I have never been to a hotel that makes its own freshly squeezed multi-vitamin juice before!! This is just one item that makes their breakfast stand head and shoulders above others. They have won awards for their brunches 5 years in a row. All in all, I cannot recommend this hotel more highly and I came away from our break feeling thoroughly refreshed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor with a balcony facing the lake!

We used this hotel as a stop-off on our drive from Slovakia to the UK, with a 2 year old toddler.

There's lots to like about this hotel
- The setting is lovely and its great with kids .. there's a lake right next-door with a lakeside walk and kids playground.
- The outdoor terrace is lovely and the restaurant decor is very modern and well designed.
- The nearby town is very nice indeed.
- friendly staff
- kid friendly
- the sauna facilities are very good
- the rooms are a bit dated but very clean and well presented and our double was a great size, so for the price I have no complaints at all about the room.

However, sometimes its the little things that count and definitely that was the case here. Wifi is essential when travelling for booking ahead, keeping up with people, etc. Unfortunately, wifi is not included in the price and is €5 extra PER HOUR! That's a ridiculous price, and the signal wasn't even that great in the room.

Wifi is essential, not optional, and should be included in the price.

Room Tip: The one with the balcony facing the lake looked very nice although it's probably the most expens...

This is a relatively small country hotel, in very nice surroundings and bordering a small lake. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The dinner menu is robustly German, very well cooked and prepared. The service is as you would expect, friendly, not overly sophisticated but clearly customer focused. Breakfast buffet is very good indeed, with a wide range of fresh food and local produce. The added plus is that all the meals can be taken on the large terrace, depending on weather, of course

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lake - these have the best views

Had a super stay at this hotel, travelled with two teens and two infants!! Hotel rooms and ensuites were spotlessly clean, staff could not do enough for us and food was super.

Hotel was initially hard to find probably our fault for being tired.

Reception gave us a lovely warm welcome, had dinner outside by the lake, food and service were wonderful. Buffet breakfast was wonderful with a good choice of fresh food and lovely staff, even gave our fidgety toddlers a basket of toys to play with on the dining room floor - nothing was too much trouble.

Hotel in a super setting next to a beautiful lake with super views and a very nice safe playground within a few minutes walk.

A real treat to stay here .... thank you all at Hotel am Bruchsee

I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel. First the reception clerk said he didn't have my reservation, then he said he did have it. The next morning when we went to check out the clerk asked my husband to pay for the rooms. When I informed him the rooms were pre-paid he said he didn't have a record of that. He finally was able to confirm we had pre-paid the rooms. As for the decor, the rooms were filthy, terribly outdated, and the bedding smelled moldy. The only saving grace was that the bathrooms had been recently remodeled and were clean. This may have been a 3 star hotel in the 70's but it certainly doesn't make the cut at today's standards.
