My husband and I booked to take our 12 and 10 year old daughters and my parents on a boat tour to see dolphins. Thank you- Lorenzo was wonderful and gave us memories we will always cherish. Lorenzo took us to the fishery where the dolphins usually come, on seeing they weren’t there, he took us on an exhilarating boat ride around the rocks and caves of the area. It was just us and another Italian family - Lorenzo was very inclusive and translated his knowledge of the area beautifully. His navigation skills with the boat were clearly incredible as he took the boat into a small cave - the depth of the cave dwarfed us and was a fantastic experience. Then after we emerged Lorenzo, in radio contact with another boat from the company discovered that the dolphins were making their way to the fishery. He speedily took us back (which was so much fun in itself) and there they were... a wonderful magical experience. We say in awe as we watched a mother and calf and the rest of the pod come up for air around the fishery. They were there for about 20mins. As we quietly watched, my 10 year old took a deep, deep sigh and whispered “Mum, even when I’m eighty, I don’t thing I’ll forget this.”
On the way back Lorenzo let all of the children steer the boat just to add to their joy.
Thank you so much- this was the pinnacle of our trip to Sardinia. Xxx

The beach itself is unexceptional, and used mostly by locals as a family day beach. It is also the departure point for some of the dolphin watching trips, one of which is operated by the operator of the fish farm visible from shore (his trip leaves from the main harbor dock). That particular operator uses his own fish to greet the dolphins, who recognize him as their feeding buddy after so many years in the area, and perform tricks right next to his boat. Our interest was to walk from the beach, up the hill to the site of the historic world's first microwave long distance radio transmission by inventor Guglielmo Marconi in 1932, from Capo Figaro to the Italian mainland near Rome. The hike is on gravel roads, still maintained for the major new communications center located next to the historic site, as it snakes up the hill with one switchback after another. Many local and a few tourist hikers and mountain bikers enjoy the trail, with the view from the top being your reward, not to mention the chance to burn off all those pasta calories!

We went on this with our 7 month old baby, he slept through most of it!
We managed to see some dolphins at the end, and we were really close to them! It was pretty special! We enjoyed the trip
