“Amazing Hotel!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 September 2013

We stayed at the Villa Margherita at the end of August and I couldn't rate it high enough. Lovely hotel and helpful and friendly staff. We went there with our 4 year old little boy who loved the pool and the gardens are very pretty and really well kept. The croissants at breakfast were really tasty and go very nicely with a cappuccino! Golfo Aranchi itself is really nice, it has a good range of restaurants (our favourite was the pizzeria called Caprisa down by the train crossing, but you should book in peek season as its very popular) and a lovely promenade to walk along. There is an Italian market along the street in the evenings and there is an Italian ice cream shop only a few doors from the hotel which has ice cream to die for!
We spent most days at Porto Retundo beach which is about a 20 minute drive from the hotel but well worth the drive. The sea is crystal clear and you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas for the day . The Magic Beach Bar restaurant which is right on the beach did some of the best pasta I have ever eaten. I would definitely recommend the seafood pasta!
I would really recommend a car to get the most out of Sardinia as there are so many lovely beaches to see. Porto Cervo is worth a morning visit to see how the other half live but unless your loaded I wouldn't stay any longer.
All together we loved our trip and cant wait to hopefully return next year!!!

We spent 3 nights at this wonderful hotel and will surely be back. We travel to Italy quite often and I have not encountered great service at this level since a very long time: every single person from the receptionist to the restaurant server to the room cleaner were helful, professional and very polite. Rooms: clean and spacious. Towels are changed daily. I recommend the Thursday 5 course dinner at their restaurant: EUR 35pp, wonderful food and fantastic service with tables set out at the poolside where one can watch the sunset. Since we are don't eat red meat, we opted for the fish version of the menu which was just amazing. The street in front of the hotel is converted into a pedestrian zone from 8pm onwards and market stalls are set up so it was fun stroll after dinner without having to use the car. In a nutshell: we loved this place and cannot wait to return!

Just returned From our honeymoon staying at the wonderful hotel villa margherita. Can't rate this hotel highly enough a top class place to stay in beautiful surroundings. Can't think of one negative thing to say if I had to, Marco and his staff are extremely helpful and go out of there way take care of anything you may need answering any questions. The hotel has a beautiful pool and garden area and had an amazing sea view from our room. One must during your stay I would highly recomend is to experience the Sardinian evening in the hotel restaurant a fabulous five course meal and Sardinian entertainment one of our highlights from our stay at the Hotel villa Margherita.

Staied 5 days in July. Hotel clean and nice. we had superior room with private jacuzzi to enjoy at any time. Hotel very located on the main shopping street (no car at night). Negative point: they should offer a more affordable half/full board.

This is an amazing hotel! We stayed for our honeymoon in August 2013. The hotel is immaculate, clean, beautifully decorated and well laid out. It is not too big but not too small. A warm and lovely feel. The pool is fantastic and set in lovely, well kept gardens. There is a very warm, outside, Jacuzzi which we sat in during the early evening with a glass of wine. The bar is smart, well air conditioned and not over-priced. Breakfast was excellent and a very wide choice - of continental, cereal, eggs, toast, pastries etc. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked fabulous at night time, candle lit both in and out. You can sit outside and by the pool for all meals or in the classy restaurant area. The staff were so helpful and professional. They helped us quickly and efficiently with tour bookings, taxis, beauty treatments etc. They were lovely and even shook our hands and wished us well when we departed! The hotel is a stones throw from the beach and all the major restaurants, the pizzeria, just next door was great. All in all, this is a fantastic, smart, easy place.

Room Tip: There are three floors - we were on the top floor which gave a great view of both the pool and the h...

Wow, what a wonderful place. It was clean as a whistle and so well appointed. The breakfast was great and our view from our room was wonderful. We booked a visit to Sardinia and didn't know where to stay but the prices and reviews were great here. The beach was close by and oh so beautiful. We didn't have car but wish we did because you cant go to other towns and beaches unless you take a train or bus via Olbia. But we stayed right put and loved the tranquility. In July, every night they closed the street for a fair with vendors, music and activities from 9pm-1am. Really nice.

Room Tip: Room 307 had a nice open balcony and a great view

Just returned from 14 days on a half board basis in the hotel cannot speak highly enough of food, service, cleanliness, stunning natural gardens and Fabulous views of the gulf .Good base from which to explore the Emerald coast, do not go expecting night life but if you enjoy people watching and taking in the ambience (and eating Italian) this is an ideal spot. You need a car, public transport is spasmodic (slight understatement) Not usually one to complete reviews Sardinia and the Villa are well worth a comment or two. Stunning
