This old castle in Linate, a suburb of Milan, is hard to find but rewards the hungry traveller. You will not find any tourists just many chatty Italians in a clubby and country-casual dining room.
The food is big and meaty with an emphasis on local and seasonal product. Grilled meats and terrific pastas are highlights. The Porcini pasta is a standout- just mushrooms and pasta.
So, if you have a car and a spirit of adventure this is a good spot. The building is a huge old brick castle and houses an antique shop(never open). Prices are Euro20-25 for dinner.
