We arrived at the point the break in the long hot drought arrived, which brought thunder, cloud and rain so we weren't able to enjoy it to its fullest. Beautiful gardens, 2 fabulous swimming pools, surrounded by fields and with a charming manager who speaks fluent English and was incredibly kind and helpful - well beyond the call of duty. We had been upgraded to a bigger apartment which was well appointed and spacious. Continental Breakfast offered plenty of choice. The only thing missing was the sun.... a shame, breakfast by the pool would have been lovely.
A five minute drive from the railway station which has a huge empty free car park. 15 minutes on the train into the centre of Rome for €2.20 - so easy and completely stress-free.
We also used it as a base to visit the beautiful coastline with long sandy beaches, historic coastal town Terra Cena, Castel Gandolfo on Lake Albano, the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery at Anzio and the US WW2 cemetery at Nettuno.
We had a good stay here and would recommend it if you prefer to be somewhere more chilled and avoid city hotels, or want to explore outside Rome.
