20 minute train ride from the central station. Trains are frequent and pretty cheap. It is a twenty minute walk to the apartments after leaving the station. It is a very quite station and can be quite confusing to work out where to go. We had stayed in the area previously so found it pretty easy to find. The best strategy is to get the directions from google maps and then you can't go far wrong.
It states that check in must be by 8pm. We arrived at 12 noon expecting someone on the reception desk but found no one there. We called the number posted on the wall and the receptionist came to downstairs to let us in. We were told check in was from 1pm we had not found this stated any where . Accommodation was clean and great for getting a nights sleep.

PROS- The apartment was nice and had everything you might need. Staff was very nice and spoke English. The town of Quarto is nice and pleasant to walk around at any time of day, some days we walked at almost midnight! Very safe neighborhoods. Also, free wifi and a washer. CONS- No one came to the room to clean, I'm not sure if they were supposed to, but we ran out of toilet paper the first day since they left a used one there! The hot water ran out as soon as one person showered, so we had to split shower times. The heater was supposed to be on but the room was still somewhat cold. Also, the train station is quite a bit of walk away. It is fine for adults, but if you have young kids not so much. After spending all day walking in Venice, you don't want to get of the train late at night and walk 25 to get to your hotel room. With a 4 year old, that walk took an extra 10-15 minutes. There are no taxis to be found in that town! As I said, the place was nice, but next time we will pay a little more to stay somewhere a bit closer to transportation.

We had a fab holiday in Venice. We were a little concerned beacause we arrioved at Marco Polo airport at 10.pm and we had to ring a lady who would meet us at the apartments. However I rang and she spoke good English and asked us to ring her when we arrived. The taxi ride from the airport was about 15 mins and cost 45 Euros. She met us and the apartment was super, clean spacious well equipped and the beds were very high quality. She gave us a map of the small town Quatro d'altino and a train timetable, she told us we could now buy our ttrain tickets at the machines at the station.
The mackines were ou of use and remained like this for the six days. A local man we met at the station on the first day said they never worked and took us to the Crowne Plaza Hotel to buy the tickets. The Hotel is through the underpass turn left and it's clear to see. Leave a little bit of time to purchase them as sometimes their reception is busy. Three returns to Venice Santa Lucia was 14 Euros ten cents. The train was often quite full but we just walked through and insisted people moved their bags from the seat and we always got a seat. Trains were excellent always on time and the trip was short and interesting. The first night we came back in the dark so be aware of having to recognise a strange station in the dark.
We used the supermarket oin quatro d'altino it was excellent. The bar and restaurant in Quatro d'altino gave the best food and value so we came back to eat in the town two nights. Note though the bar is shut Wed night and the restaurant Thursday. The bar we loved was the one further along the main road on the left hand side with cream wood table and chairs. The restaurant was further towards the apartment on the opposite side of the road (ristorante pizzeria vecio decimo)- the wood fired pizza and spaghetti seafood was best I heve ever had.
We absolutely loved Venice but gosh was it expensive we really felt ripped off 100 pounds for rotten food and wine that was recommended on a blog

I highly recommend a stay at Residence Venice. The apartments are spotlessly clean, smart and comfortable.
The kitchen is well equipped and there is a microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of utensils etc.
The double bedroom has wardrobes, dressing table, bedside lamps, the bed was the best I'd ever slept in! There are attractive sliding doors which separate the bedroom which was useful as our son slept on the equally comfortable sofa bed in the lounge area.
The bathroom was also well equipped, the shower was great and good toiletries to use. There were plenty of towels and bed linen, which was new and good quality.
There was a large tv and terrace.
When you first enter the apartment it is looks very welcoming and there is milk, juice, tea snacks etc.
It is in a good location with a short walk to the station where the frequent trains take you to the centre of Venice-fantastic! About 25minute train ride. You can buy tickets from the machine at the station, however we found it easier to buy them from the local tabac.
The hotel is situated in Quarto d'Altino which has good facilities, a supermarket, restaurants and shops.
The staff at Residence Venice are great- friendly, helpful and approachable.
My trip to Venice was a surprise birthday present and we stayed 5 days. I could'nt fault a single thing and will definitely stay at Residence Venice again.
