We were looking for gluten free meal in Jerez. The server MIguel was an excellent advisor. He took time to go with us trought the whole menu to mention what if gluten free. We also had the surprise that they prepare gluten free fresh bread (we mention it during the reservation phone call). Quality was a real surprise. My Sun never has such a nice meal in a gluten free restaurant. We had several tapas to start, all serve in 2 portions (one with and one without gluten)
Miguel has also a good knowlege on wine. I would really recommand to visit Gula if you are in Jerez

If you ask Miguel, owner and chef at Gula, you'll have a good time. Great food. Value for money.
He also speaks good English.

Our server Miguel made sure we had an excellent experience. I believe he is an owner of the restaurant. His English is excellent and he spent time making some recommendations from the menu and is very knowledgeable about wine including Sherry. He even let us try some superb Olorosos [including some from Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla] and brought a bottle in for us a few days later which we bought at a reasonable price. We were happy to give him the business.

So while the restaurant is not in the middle of the old city [20 minute walk], I highly recommend it especially if you want to learn about Sherry and food pairings and meet Miguel. Lunch may be the better time to go so that Miguel is not so busy.

This place is a real hidden gem in Jerez. The food is excellent - well above average. The menu is broad with clever and well developed modern dishes based on traditional foods from the region and beyond. The ratio of price versus quality is outstanding. The wine menu is extensive and wines are very sensibly priced. The service is excellent with a whole team of very attentive staff.
Will I return - you bet - this will become a regular haunt!

The chef is a very friendly guy who can really cook! Very well thought out combinations, beautifully prepared and presented. We ordered a lot...way too much...got to try many things on the menu. There wasn't one item that we didn't love. Everything was delicious!
