First the bad news: we chose a very windy couple of days to visit, so it was not possible to lounge by the pool nor use the terrace outside our room. Otherwise - Perfect! This is one of those hotels where you feel immediately at ease when you walk through the entry courtyard. Even though the hotel was apparently fully-booked, we still felt we had the place to ourselves. There were wonderful views of open countryside from the bedroom, which was everything one would expect from a hotel of this standard. The restaurant food was absolutely fabulous, and very reasonably priced too.
We used the hotel as a base for visiting southern Andalusia: in addition to Jerez we were able to easily travel to Cadiz, Sanlucar, Trafalgar and even Gibraltar, such was the easy access to the road network.

Room Tip: Room 205 has its own terrace.

A new hotel about five minutes from the Jerez airport. Nice accommodations and staff. the restaurant was excellent. Easy access to the A-4 to Jerez, Sevilla, or Arcos. The only negative is it sits in the middle of a field, so unless you have transportation, you're stuck at the hotel. The price for a stay was considerably less than comparable hotels.

This hotel is an example of what a hotel should be. It´s only been open for a while so everything is still very new. The hotel used to be an old hacienda and has been completely reformed keeping the rural touch but adding all the necessary high standard comfort you would expect in a hotel. The junior suites are marvellous including a large terrace overlooking the surrounding countryside, a large flat screen tv and large, very comfortable king size beds. The hotel is not situated in the centre of Jerez which, for some, might be a negative but by car one reaches the centre in 5 minutes. The advantage: no detours to get to the highway in case of a roadtrip, absolute and complete tranquility, no parking fees/problems!

Room Tip: The junior suites are stunning

It was the "Superb" rating on Booking.com that made us book this hotel / inn / ex-stable :) Certain details however prevent me from giving a 4 or 5-star.

On the positive side:
Amazing rooms. Enormous beds, super clean (with daily service), a Hilton-style large bathroom with all the amenities you would expect.

The large pool - despite having enough clorine in the water to kill small animals, get your goggles if you go swimming! - is virtually next to the rooms making it ideal for a quick swim in the morning.

The aesthetics of the location. We stayed at the pool until very late simply to watch the sun setting over the rolling hills. Great view and It felt as if we were on an oasis in the middle of the barren countryside.

On the negative side:
I fully understand that Spanish is one of the most popular languages in the world and I do appreciate a nations pride in their language. But I do expect the staff of a hotel to have the bare minimum knowledge of English, enough to point me towards the reception or tell me where to park my car. In Cortijo we had to wait several times until a member of staff would rush off to find a colleague of his that spoke English. Slightly annoying, especially if you've just checked in late at night and simply want to go to bed. Ordering breakfast was an adventure :)

The breakfast was non-existent. No buffet, a very limited selection from the "breakfast menu" which basically consisted of toasted bread with either jamon, cheese, or marmalade. With very small effort I believe the hotel can offer a much better breakfast selection.

The location. You absolutely do need a car to reach Cortijo de Ducha. it's quite a way from Jerez, you need to exit the large motorway at a certain exit, cross 2 roundabouts, and then travel another 3-5 minutes in a barely signposted non-lighted road to reach it. If you don't have a car or don't want to spend 20 euros to a taxi you should avoid it.

For me Cortijo de Ducha is ideal if you're on a couples / romantic holiday, have a car, speak a little Spanish :) and don't mind driving every day to town to experience Jerez.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor have better views
