Much of what you see in the streets of Jerez is a "just" a few hundred years old. The museum gives you an insight in to the cultures that occupied the area before - Prehistoric, Roman, Visigoths, Moors. The museum is in a nice old palace and the exhibits are well laid out, even if few are spectacular.

I was surprised at how impressive the collection was, given the relatively small size and obscurity of this museum.

Interesting collection of items related to history of Jerez. Modern museum with aircon. Take a taxi there because it borders some dodgy neighbourhoods.

The museum has only recently reopened after major renovation. Admission is free to Spanish residence for the month of January. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed with the variety of items on show.

There is a lift to the second floor but it was out of order.
There is no information in English.
