“Returned for the second time.”
Reviewed 22 September 2013

Visited previously to meet friends in Jerez in 2011 and did not hesitate in booking this Hotel for the second time. On this occasion we stayed for 4 nights. The Hotels grounds are still extremely well maintained lovely pool and surrounds and with free parking yet within easy walking distance of the main attactions in the City. The Royal Horse School being immediately behind and well worth the visit.

Good rooms and this time we had a room with a bath and shower, well furnished and maintained. Requested quiet room facing the pool and this was provided. These rooms do however have a pigeon problem and the birds were attempting to nest in the planting troughs at the edge of each balcony, but it was worth it to have the view and they soon fly away when you are on the balcony. Good and plentiful buffet breakfast, repeatedly re-stocked and with bacon and eggs freshly cooked to order. Friendly staff throughout the hotel although the bar staff could still have been a lot friendlier and helpful. The Hotel is used by coach parties and with only one barman, be prepared for a long wait whilst he also prepares the coffees.

Would not hesitate to book again and we are already planning our next trip. Easy to catch the regular train service to Cadiz from Jerez.

Room Tip: Top floor overlooking the pool.

Stayed here for 4 nights . Lovely hotel. With Indoor & Out Door pool.
Great Value & very clean . Rooms small enough but very comfy beds.
Would definitely advise anyone to stay in it.
Staff could be friendlier in the bar and reception but cleaning staff very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a shower. They are heaven!

we stayed here for eleven nights in September. Its in a good position very close to town center, about 10 min walk.Close to several Bodegas and the Andalucian horse show.Rooms while a bit on the small side had very comfortable beds and pillows also contained a safe and a fridge which we used for our own water until strangely after eight days we returned to the room to find it had been stocked with a selection of bottles and a price list !...The pool and gardens were beautifully maintained and a lovely oasis on a hot day.We didn't use the restaurant so cant comment but the snack bar at the pool was nice if slightly expensive compared to town prices.A big plus was the free safe parking and a definite minus was the air con which really wasn't
up to much.Cleaning staff did a fantastic job rooms and public areas were always spotless, reception staff were helpful if a little aloof.Overall a good hotel and would recommend it.

Room Tip: rooms with a pool view are best

This hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the historic centre of Jerez and is close to other attractions such as the training and show ground for the local Andalusian horses and local sherry producers.

The hotel is well presented with nice gardens (after the gardeners had tidied them up on our second day!) and pool area.

The rooms are finished to very high standard with modern high spec bathrooms and excellent beds.

Breakfast was of a high standard, with lots of choice and freshly prepared options. Coffee from the provided machine was poor, but as an alternative you could ask for a freshly prepared pot to be brought to your table.

The hotel was let down for us by poor service at lunch, followed by low quality food (frozen chips and what can only be described as plastic ham on sandwiches around the pool), which lead us to choose to not eat again in the hotel.

Big plus points are the location and hotel own parking in the city center. The hotel facilities such as the pool out and in, the gym and the pool bar are in a good condition and sufficient. It is overall clean and neat. The staff has come a bit to age and is not really that detail oriented and customer focussed. The breakfast buffet is from a culinary point of view very well organized and the selection includes a healthy corner with fresh cut fruits and non fat yogurts! If you expect tea or coffee service you are let down disappointed. The coffee is to be taken by the guest and if you are unlucky you find yourself standing in a 5 m long line for 8 minutes to get your most important cup of hot coffee in the morning. Chefs should also be trained on how to do a classic proper omelet. I would visit it again but despite 4/5 star rating by selfadvertisemnt it comes close to a 2 star hotel compare to Kempinski, Jumeirah or Hilton for examle. English knowledge of reception staff was good and the reservations team was very friendly as well. We will return to this hotel.

Reviewed 27 August 2013

Stayed two nights in a standard twin with an extra bed for a 7 year old in August 2013. The following is what I thought of the hotel:

Pluses:

+ Well equipped rooms, modern furnishings, clean room and clean public areas
+ Bathroom well-equipped . Shower pressure good and hot.
+ Public rooms well furnished, modern, bright, clean and roomy.
+ Good sized pool with lifeguard, disabled access.
+ Breakfast has good variety and quality good.
+ Reception staff professional & friendly & helpful.
+ Bedrooms have small balcony, table & chairs and clothes drying rack.
+ Big car park which is free for guests (a big asset in Jerez)
+ Easy to find hotel and just 10 minutes walk to centre of town or catch No 16 bus just outside hotel which will take you to centre. (Walking is no problem - along big avenue to centre. You won't get lost).
+ Live music (one singer) in evening. One was good but the other was dreary during our stay.

Minuses:

- Waiting staff were not really on the ball. You have to chase them to get service and the service was not very friendly or forced. Get the feeling that they have high volume of people passing through the hotel so really don't try to personalise things.
- The pool, whilst big, gets crowded in the afternoon and all the sunbeds get taken. In August I think the hotel is used by masses of people as a cheaper base to access the beaches of Puerto Santa Maria, etc. Therefore, not many people morning / midday but come late afternoon it was packed.
- The bedroom was well equipped, etc, but it was a bit small compared to other hotels.
- Economic eating options not available at night. During the day there is a lounge / poolside menu with club sandwiches, however at night you only have the fine dining restaurant or a set buffet which is not cheap. We decided to walk into town for some excellent food and better prices.

TIPS:

- Ask for a garden / poolside room for a quieter stay
- About 10 mins walk into town from the hotel is the Plaza Rafael Rivero. Lovely square with mansion houses and about 4 tapas bars (tabancos). Recommend it as an evening meal option.

Room Tip: Ask for a poolside / garden view.

We stayed at the Sherry park for two nights in august and would have stayed another night if they had a vacancy.
The rooms were large, modern with classy furnishings and a huge/ modern bathroom with all the ammenities one would need to pamper themselves.
All rooms had an added bonus of a decent size private balcony with outdoor furniture and a mini clothes line for drying washed clothes on the go.
Super friendly and helpfull hotelstaff, who spoke several languages.
Nice indoor and outdoor pool & free parking on hotel premises was brilliant.
Nice breakfast buffet and have large dinner buffets if you don't feel like walking 30 minutes to the old town to explore restaurants and tapas bars.
Supermarket ( Mercadona) a 5 minute walk from the hotel was very handy to buy basic refreshments.
5 minute walk to the Royal Andalusian riding school
Late check out service available at an additional cost of 30 Euros.
Overall impression a great hotel, and excellent value for money if you are lucky to score a discount rate, ordering online through hotel websights like hotels.com, trivago etc.
We would definately stay there again if we go back to Jerez.
