“Never 4 Star, just a centrally located bed for the night”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

Without doubt the most over-rated hotel I have stayed in. Reading the Tripadvisor reviews again after the stay, I thought we had stayed somewhere different. Shame we were so persistent trying to find this hard to locate hotel.

Where to start. Slow ineffective checkin. We did not get the double bed reserved over a month earlier, even when confirming this at reception. Two single beds pulled together is not a double bed. No coffee shop, no lunch or dinner restaurant facilities. Buying an espresso capsule to put in a machine to make your coffee at reception is not a facility one associates with a 4 star hotel. The tiny pool on the roof must be the large bath to which so many of the positive reviewers have referred as a feature of their room - for sure too small to swim in. The view from the room of roofs and walls of adjoining properties is another negative feature. The safe was not attached to the wall so could be carried out, but as the last user had not left it ready for use by the next person, it didn't matter.

On the plus side it is clean, a place to sleep in the town centre and there is a great cafe (La Antigua) a few doors down for breakfast - having chosen not to risk the breakfast.

Extremely good value for money. Centrally located close to main square and cathedral.

Room is the best feature feature of the hotel. Very modern and clean and boutique feel.

Swimming pool area very nice place to chill. It is the smallest swimming pool imagineable - max 6 people!

That was our second staying at this hotel. The main reason - like everybody admits here- a nice location ! Just opposite an underground parking, a bit further another one- a bit cheaper.
We had room 206- no view from your window- ( not so necessary actually - to understand this country you should dissolve yourself in the crowd not just view it from the window)but as a great compensation- a really big, spacious room- it starts with rather a long corridor, then bedroom , three steps up and you are in a recreation zone with a table and wardrobes and then a bathroom with a bath and two basins and a hair drier and a shower cabin and a bidet. Not so much is offered from the hygiene objects there but we knew that and took everything we needed. We came to Jerez the third year to celebrate my birthday so- the hotel made us a pleasant gift- a bottle of good fino.:-)
The room was cleaned every day and in a very good way, the personnel of the hotel should be really praised as they are always very friendly, helpful and smiling. Good job! One can feel that the hotel is run in a good way.
On the 4th floor there' a swimming pool- we used it every day - nobody's there at 9-10 in the morning and after 8 in the evening, you will have a chance to enjoy the sun and views of the old town- and we are absolutely in love with Jerez!
There's also a sauna and a gym but you should warn the reception that you are going to use it some time in advance as it is closed otherwise.
No idea about breakfast as we prefer to eat out at the small cafés spread all over the Plaza Arenal to enjoy the vivid manner of communicating of the Spanish.
So to summit up- a good hotel, 4 stars - worth while staying at! See you next year again, Asta Regia!))))

This hotel is perfectly placed to explore Jerez, everything you want to see is literally on your doorstep, yet the hotel is in a quiet and peaceful location. From the outside, the entrance and lobby, it's clear this was once a historic and very beautiful building, but sadly, much of the old character has been removed once you get in to the rooms. Whilst they are spotlessly clean, and well furnished, the rooms are rather functional. We booked a junior suite at a great rate, but were somewhat disappointed, as the suite was rather dark and small. However, the rooftop pool is perfect and just what you need after a day's sightseeing. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Having to negotiate several flights of stairs or a lift in order to get a coffee is a bit of a pain, tea/coffee making facilities in rooms would be helpful.

The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Our room is large, modern, secure and quiet with a wonderul bathroom with a huge bathtub and separate shower. The breakfast is very good and served in a beautifully decorated room that reminds you of the nearby bodegas.

Our only tip is that if you are traveling by car, you can park in the nearby garage for 2 euros on Sunday, but otherwise park in the garage near the Alcazar, press the red button when you get the ticket, and pay 5 euros per day on a weekday. The garage near the hotel charges much more on weekdays. There is a pull out on the street near the front of the hotel to load/unload briefly but you cannot park there.

Room Tip: Book early and get a discount. They gave us a "superior" room. The only drawback is that...

Very comfortable and silent room with a large modern bathroom with separate bathtub and shower. The staff was very friendly and provided us with great recommendations on attractions and places to visit during our stay. It is also centrally located, within a two-minute walk to all mayor attractions.

While Jerez itself does not have much to offer beyond Fino tasting and food, this hotel is wonderful! The staff is friendly and very helpful. The Roma are luxurious and have both a bath and huge shower.

Room Tip: Our room faced a building and was very quiet
