Hotel Los Jandalos Jerez
Reviewed 24 August 2009

The hotel is REALLY beautiful - the building itself, the lobby, rooms and SPA. The staff was very helpful about the city and SPA, explained how it wrks etc. The rooms were huge and very comfortable. Everything has been made with guests in mind - beds, lights, chairs, curtains. The bathroom was just superb for a 4 star property!
As for the breakfast - the choice was good and the restaurant very well furbished, but there was nobody to help us.
Though we enjoyed the stay and would certainly recommend it!

We got a good deal for this hotel on a last minute site and, as such, it was more than worth the money. We were caught by bad weather at the end of our holiday and thought booking into a nice four star hotel with a spa would ensure that, at least, we could just relax there.

The hotel was, I'd imagine, planned well. It is nicely decorated and the superior rooms are basically small and quite comfortable suites. But the initial idea to provide a good spa hotel simply hasn't been followed through on. Staff and services just aren't that great.

The location is good; about a ten minute walk from the town centre (note that Jerez is very small however and few hotels are that much further out). There's also a car park attached which is very convenient.

But... the staff are standoffish and sometimes rude (assuming you can find someone). The TV (and this is the first time I've ever even turned on a television on holidays but exhaustion and torrential rain drove us to it) has no non-Spanish station apart from BBC Worldservice (which is normally fine; but they do bill themselves quite differently). The spa barely opens its doors on the weekend (closed entirely on Sunday) and closes for a long stretch through the afternoon. The massage was more of a relaxing backup than a professional job... It's all fine but just not really that good.

Basically, if you're looking for somewhere to experience Jerez: get somewhere cheaper (Belles Artes is apparently quite nice). If you're looking to treat yourself: book somewhere else and maybe (*maybe* use the spa here). If you get a good last minute deal and you get a room here for much the same price as a comfortable 3 star then go for it.

Classy hotel. Very good value for money. Huge bedrooms and beds and lovely bathrooms. Sparkling clean. Staff at reception very helpful- we had a problem with the toilet and it was fixed by the time we came back from breakfast! Air con spot on-just the right temperature. No fridge in room but vending maching and ice box in corridor outside. Breakfast good and varied-you could even have Bucks Fizz or a Bellini if you wanted-plenty of choice. Perhaps a little bit outside the town if you wanted to go to see flamenco - the old town was a bit of a walk. The only problem was it was a bit noisy as we were at the front of the hotel - they had good blackout blinds so the light was no problem. Enjoyed it and would stay there again.

we visited for a long weekend. The hotel is only 10mins walk to the old part of Jerez and shops, so very handy. The room we had was large and very comfortable. There is no minibar or kettle as it's on a main road, it can get rather noisy. their car park costs 7euros per day to use plus there's free internet access for those who need it. only let down were the staff. The two receptionists we met were sullen and not interested in trying to help us out with very simple queries, shame as the rest of Jerez and the people were warm and friendly. i'd recommend the hotel otherwise

We booked online and got a substantially reduced tarif, I'd recommend it for a cheap break. Its location is not totally central, but a fair 15min walk takes you to the main square. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and the room and bathroom surprisingly large, with a comfortable lounge area. Parking was an issue, outside spaces are limited and there are some indoor places but they were very
tight. Pool was shut when we stayed so we didn't see it. Restaurant food was average, but staff friendly.

This hotel is two blocks from the equestrian centre and 15 minutes from the Cathedral and Tio Pepe Sherry bodegas, so it is easy to walk to sight see. Staff are very friendly and helpful and gave directions and phoned taxis. Room was large, clean and quiet. Bathroom was clean, spacious and well supplied. We only ate breakfast in the hotel as there are lots of places to eat nearby. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, a buffet of eggs, cold meats, bacon, cheese, fruit, cereals, etc. so we didn't need much for lunch and usually had tapas in a cafe in a plaza. The bar and cafe staff were very friendly and the snacks we had were good.
The display at the School of Andalusian horses was superb, beautiful even if you aren't horsey! and you can see around the stables which is fascinating if you are. There is a tack shop next to the hotel.
We didnt see the spa which was across the courtyard. The only thing that could be improved would be to put some tables and chairs out in the courtyard. It would have been pleasant to sit outside at the end of a long day sight seeing but although the courtyard was very pleasant, there was nowhere to sit.

I agree with most comments about confort, beauty and location of the hotel, the rooms are quite big. But I don't agree with the comments about breakfast. I found it plentifull, warm and with reasonable variety for a 4* hotel.

I don't rememeber seeing cereals (which doesn't mean there weren't, I just don't remember seeing them). But I did have rolls, fruit, juice, and I saw eggs, and a lot other things. Maybe reviewers should state what they exect from such a hotel when making comments about such things, so that eraders can have an objective way of evaluation (just a suggestion!).

The dining room is in another building, togeher with the spa and other rooms. One has to cross an uncovered backyard which servers as the parking. It has several orange trees, which smell great, but it is not so great when it rains, which happened to us this last week-end. apart from that all was ok.
