On a trip to watch F1 winter testing in Jerez we chose this restaurant based on the #1 ranking on Tripadvisor. We had a good meal, but based on our previous night in Parrilla La Pampa, there is better on offer in Jerez.
However, that's not a bad reflection on La Mascaipacha. They have both English and Spanish menues, and although the service didn't speak any English it wasn't a big problem to order. Food is served tapas style, and is certainly of good quality, if a little on the salty side. A special mention must go to the cured meats though - 3 year old acorn-fed ham was divine. Hand-carved in front of you and simply melt in the mouth.
Lovely vodka liqueurs on the house at the end (very good local take on Limoncello) made the evening. However, going back to the first point on this review, the very clean, white, sterile atmosphere doesn't quite suit Jerez and there are better places to eat. If you just ate here you'd likely be happy, but on my experience it isn't the number one place in Jerez.
