“Gladiators used to fight here”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Just next to the Roman Theatre in Mérida you can visit the place were gladiators used to fight, among themselves or with wild animals. What you have often seen in films, with the only difference that this is for real!

“Amazing to still have”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

This was the other half of the Roman Theatre property. It is well worth the visit. I would like to go back for a performance.

“Guided tour, if possible!”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

Together with the Teatro Romano, a must-see in Mérida. If possible, I would recommend taking the guided tour. The guides are superb and make the visit a very enjoyable experience.

“Very well preserved”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

the amphitheater is large and well preserved/restored in places. It is adjacent to the theater and offers you a view of how substantial Merida was in Roman times. Well worth the trip to see.

“Inner part well preseved”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

Inner part is well preseved and the auditorium is definitely getting one "back" into those times, two thousands years ago. Outer walls are on the contraire - completely missing.
