Good photos can be had from the ramparts of the adjacent Alcazar. This gives you a nice shot of the new bridge down the river as well.

Another world heritage site in Spain, this ancient Roman bridge is simply amazing! A photographers dream and it still stands!

That a bridge of this scale, built by the Romans, still exists and is still in constant use on a daily basis by the citizens of Merida is truly amazing. The quality of the building is a testament to those early engineers and the men who built it.

A long hot walk to the other side and back jn the heat of the day...thete are no cafes, bars or toilets....so best to enjoy with a bottle of water in hand in the early evening.

At the edge of the Roman part of town it is still being used and presents a good entrance to the historic centre.

This is beautiful and well maintained. It is the longest surviving roman bridge in the world - walk over it.
