When visiting Jaca we were told to try this place. It was really great. Better than the tapas we had in Madrid. Very busy so get there at 7:30. Their fois gras on toast was the best, and only a little over 2 euros. They also had an interesting squid dish. Highly recommended.

Easily the best tapas we found in Northern Spain. The hotel receptionist recommended the place to us and we were delighted to see afterwards that it's ranked number one - for very good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it does get busy so if you're after a quiet romantic meal this place probably isn't for you. That said, the helpful staff work super-hard to make sure you don't have to wait too long as they rush about behind the bar, and still manage to serve with a smile. As a Brit with (shamefully) little Spanish I was relieved to be taken great care of by one of the barmen who could tell we were a little bit lost in the crowd. I simply asked him to give us a selection of what he recommends and we were delighted with the results. Excellent service and excellent food.

As others have said, it's best to get there early (it opens at 7.30) to get a table. That said, the staff did seem very skilful at taking names from those waiting, and seating them when space became available. The place us clearly VERY popular. The food is good, there is plenty of atmosphere, and it is reasonably priced.
