On arrival we were able to park directly outside at no charge. Reception was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the only downside was lack of a balcony but this is normal in hotels in towns. Evening meal 'menu del dia' was good value and consisted of 3 courses plus wine, the total cost for 2 was 27 euros.Dog friendly and a little park nearby which was handy. We will definitely use this hotel again on our journey to the UK.

Jaca is a very old and charming little town and I must say my best experience on this trip of Aragon and Catalunya. The town has narrow streets and finding a place to park your vehicle will be difficult.... so stay at the Hotel Real. It is in a residential area incredibly close to the center of the town....... Just up about 200 steps(not really sure how many)! I parked my little Mini on the street right on front of the hotel and never drove it again. The hotel is not luxurious but very well kept. The rooms are spacious and very clean. And it is definitely a bargain. I would certainly travel more if I could find deals like this. This is a great place to sleep while you spend your time in the center of this amazing little town. And San Juan de la Piedra is a short drive away!

Room Tip: my habit is to always request a high floor and it never fails )))

I've stayed at this hotel a number of times when motorcycling with friends in this area and never been disappointed. It has a garage for vehicles, however this is now close by not attached to the hotel, as the basement is now a spa. The rooms are clean and well appointed and have excellent beds and toiletries. The continential breakfast has always been of a good standard and is plentiful. The bar is good for a quick drink and the hotel has free wifi.

The hotel is also only about 100 metres from a set of steps that leads directly to this interesting Spanish "Pyrenean" town, including some good restaurants. Although this hotel is not picturesque nor has great views of the surrounding mountains, it is a clean, welcoming and good value for the traveller. When I go to this area again for biking I'll definately use this hotel.

We only stayed for one night during August on our journey through the Pyrenees. My husband liked the hotel with its ski lodge appeal in the rooms. We were on the top floor, which meant we had only sky light’s not proper windows. They had blinds that had to be secured by a piece of wire and they were full of holes so the light came in anyway. The walls were panelled and the room actually had a sofa bed which had been made up and two single beds which we used, as you couldn’t actually get in the sofa bed as it was in an alcove so you had to crawl in the bottom, which at my age is getting more difficult.

We didn’t eat in the restaurant as they didn’t seem to have anything for vegetarians but that could have been our lack of understanding the menu. Although we did have a lovely snack in the bar attached to the hotel. The hotel is only a short walk up into the centre of the town and we were lucky to stumble across a medieval festival in the town.

Parking may be a problem as there appears to be only street parking, although we had no problem getting a space. If you did, then there is a car park that’s free at the end of the road, which is only a short walk away. The pool is tucked at the back of the hotel and is very small, but nice for a dip in the hot weather.

The breakfast was fine and good value compared to other hotels we stayed at.

Jaca seems to be primarily a ski town. We were there in the spring, after the ski season, and it was pretty quiet. The room was rather spartan, like a motel room, but clean. If you're out skiing all day, it's a decent place to come back to sleep in. The bathroom was relatively spacious. There was a smell of smoke in the room at first, although it was a "non-smoking" room. Breakfast is included in the room price, but the breakfast isn't that great. However, the rooms are pretty cheap. (We paid 75 euros for the night.) The hotel is a few minutes walk from the main part of town.

After an exhausting traverse of the Sierra de Loarre, I arrived in Jaca late in the afternoon, quite worn out. Wanting a quiet hotel for a two-night break, a bit outside of the centre of this interesting provincial capital, I walked the extra distance to the Hotel Real, where English-speaking staff quickly assessed my state, giving me a pilgrim's rate, and sent a bottle of cava and some fruit up to my room to help me recover.

The reception and room seemed to be from the 1990s, but very clean and well-maintained. The room itself was plain, but furnishings and linen were of good quality, and staff appeared to take a lot of care in keeping the facilities clean. The pool was closed as Spaniards seem to feel that September is wintertime.

I had dinner in the restaurant which provided friendly and efficient service, and a menu de día for €12 which was very good value.

The surrounding streets are a bit boring, and there is a flight of steps to be navigated going into the old city centre-- it is possibly 5-10 minutes to the Cathedral, but one is spared the cheerful noises of bars emptying at 2.00 a.m.
