“Relaxing Break with excellent customer service”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

My husband and I spent 2 weeks on a half board basis in May, to celebrate our anniversary and attend a family wedding. We hoped for complete rest and relaxation and that's exactly what we got - in the most beautiful setting and stunning hotel. From the moment we got out of the taxi to enter the hotel when we were greeted by 2 members of staff with warm welcomes, to when we left, we were made to feel like valued guests. The hotel's lobby is what you notice first, very simply but tastefully furnished in white. Yes, there is a lot of stainless steel, marble and modern architecture which makes for a sophisticated and modern look, and everywhere is polished and ultra clean. Katerina took us to our room after we were refreshed with a lovely glass of fizz on the patio outside the top bar - she explained everything very clearly, where everything was situated, meal times etc. and showed us how items in our room worked such as the electric blind over the bath, and the safe.
We stayed in room B226, an end room overlooking the sea whig was not overlooked: bliss. The room was decorated in orange so was sunny and bright, with a comfy bed and white bedding. There was a fridge and kettle with condiments provided, plenty of glasses, ice bucket and bottle opener. We had a whirlpool bath with overhead shower, and separate rain shower, also separate toilet. There were always plenty of towels, and pool towels left for you in your room which were changed daily. Housekeeping would come in twice a day: the late afternoon visit to refresh your towels/provide more tea and coffee and to leave a plate of 2 little yummy chocs. We'd leave a tip and most days we'd come back from the pool to a little treat, such as tapas, iced green tea, strawberries, an anniversary cake on the day and even a bottle of wine - so nice! The only points to note about the room: there is no iron so take your own! I rang the desk for one as I was going to a wedding and wanted to iron a shirt and they explained that irons aren't allowed in the room as it's against Greek law! And to check the price list in the rook for items to be ironed at a cost...! Oh, if you need ice, ring room service and they'll bring you some in an ice bucket. There is a flat screen tv but sadly only 2 watchable channels, so that needs looking into but we didn't have much time to watch tv anyway.
The food is gorgeous and plentiful, you won't be disappointed! Breakfast is served till 11 which gave us plenty of time to go the gym: you can sit inside or out, or under the awning in the middle which is ideal to avoid the full sun yet still get the air con. The restaurant manager will ask you where you'd like to sit, pull your chairs out then bring you coffee/tea and the loveliest orange juice. Ask for more and they'll bring it! Also, you can order specialty coffees like Macchiato and even choose to help yourself to fizz by the ham and cheese counter! The fruit is delicious and so fresh, and so is the bread and you can request any omelettes, your choice of eggs and help yourself to items such as bacon, gratin potatoes, hash browns, tomatoes greek style, different pastries, waffles, pancakes, cheeses, yoghurts, nuts, cereals and jams. So that's breakfast....now for dinner. They allow you to swap your dinner to lunch as long as you get a card completed at front desk, and we did this a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch also. Dinner is something else: the soup each day is always different, and delicious without fail. The fish soup was my favourite, also the tomato and we chose to omit bread as there is so much food to get through! After soup, plates are taken away and you help yourself to the "starter" buffet which is really the main event: there is a big selection of amazing dishes, usually on a theme, where you can really go crazy and fill your plate, it's so nice! There was an asian evening with sushi, spring rolls, pepper ribs, chilli beef noodles, dim sum, fried prawns, fried rice, chicken wings and more. Another night, lots of fresh seafood then roast beef, then greek specialties - all very tasty and filling! So that brings me to the main: you get a choice of 3 mains which is usually a meat dish, a chicken or fish and a veggie. When it arrives, you do feel rather stuffed after all those starters but the main is really like nouvelle cuisine so mostly manageable. Every meal we had was faultless and we particularly liked the beef fillet, rabbit roll with bacon, crspy roast duck and the fish dishes (Lumberjack). Oh, then the desserts....really? It's the buffet again and you really are spoilt for choice if you can fit in anymore food! Greek specialties suck as baklava, chocolate torte, cheesecakes, eton mess, apple cobbler, cheeses, fruit, sundaes: the selection changes every day and is awesome. So we loved the food and noticed a few guests on B&B only staying for dinner in the hotel, it was that good.
Lastly, the staff. We've travelled to many hotels round the world and never have we been fortunate enough to sample such hospitality, high quality service, attention to detail and pleasant staff. For us, we fondly recall Margarita, Ivana, Kiriakis (x2), Nikos, Georgia, Anastasia, Thomas, Carolina, Katerina and Elena. All lovely people and a pleasure to have met them, thank you so much and who knows, we may be back.

My husband and I returned from a week at this beautiful hotel pampered and rested and ready to resume our busy lives. All the reviews do not prepare you for the lovely atmosphere which meant it was the most relaxed I have seen my husband for many years.
For us it was just what we needed and although it is the most we have ever paid for a hotel because it was so relaxing we spent very little while we were there.
I would however say if you do not smoke you need to tell the waiter when you enter the restaurant. Because it is outside there are some guests who smoke during dinner. For us this was quite a shock but it is the norm for Greece.
All in all we had a fabulous week. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who made it so memorable.
Carol

Room Tip: We had room A 212 a double room with a really good sea view.

Dear “Carol56”,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback on this website. This is greatly valued and much appreciated.

It is always a pleasure to read such very kind comments and I am delighted that you enjoyed your recent visit to us and that service has met your expectations.

At Smeraldo restaurant we have 35 available tables in outdoor area during Dinner time. Only five of them have been assigned as a smoking area and these are located at the bottom right corner of the outdoor area.

Once again we thank you very much for choosing Lindos Blu; we do look forward to welcoming you back in the very near future.

Superb hotel - sensational staff - fantastic views but choose a higher room as some of the balconys are overlooked.
Could do with some free standing umbrellas, as it can be very difficult to find shade in the afternoon.
Cannot find fault with this hotel, not even being very pickie!

Room Tip: 2nd floor is probably best.

My wife and I have now been here 6 days and I genuinely feel that this is one of the best hotels I have so far had the pleasure to enjoy my holiday in any country.

From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted with genuine smiles, polite conversation and a very warm welcome. This continues every single time you meet a member of staff who are all truly wonderful.

The food is of an incredibly high standard at breakfast and again all the staff are full of smiles and could not be any more helpful, it is pointless mentioning names as they are all exceptional and are a real credit to the hotel. Our favourites have been the huge selection of fresh fruit, a charcuterie service and the personal touch with freshly cooked omelettes, eggs, waffles, pancakes and daily changing filled pastries.

The cocktail bar on the top floor has a breathtaking balcony and view and beautifully crafted cocktails to match the sheer opulence.

We didn't book half board but this was our mistake and when we return here we definitely will and if you are in doubt I would encourage you to do so. It is lovely to go to Lindos or down to the beach but I would recommend breaking the day up and doing this at lunchtime. Lindos restaurants are at best hit and miss and Lindos Blu never disappoints.

Talking of food brings me to The 5 Senses. This is the A la carte restaurant on the top floor of Lindos Blu and is an absolute must at least one evening. The restaurant is as good as any Michelin Star restaurant that we have eaten in and we have been lucky to eat in a few in Europe, Japan and America. We decided to eat there on the Lobster night and we had 6 courses all of which were absolutely divine. We will also return tonight. I think it is also worth pointing out that the ambience and service is very warm and welcoming here too and the wine list is very good value.

There are little touches of excellence everywhere you turn at Lindos Blu, the pool bar, the beach service, the balcony and view from every room, the gym, indoor pool, sauna and steam room, the quality of housekeeping and room service and the little gifts you receive in your room nearly every day are very thoughtful.

I honestly cannot think of any improvement other than we should have booked half board and stayed for two weeks.

All in all sheer decadence and we will return to relax again at Lindos Blu very soon.

Dear "Mark N",

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay on this website.

I was so pleased to read that Lindos Blu is one of the best hotels you have ever enjoyed your holidays, and that our team were able to provide such a warm welcome. We really do believe that it is the small details that make all the difference and our team work hard to ensure everything is taken care of for our guests, so that they may relax in our wonderful surroundings.

I am delighted that you enjoyed our sumptuous breakfast buffet in the Smeraldo Restaurant. Most of all, it was genuinely such a pleasure to read about all your great comments about our Luna Rossa cocktail selection.

The food selection in our Five senses restaurant combined with the excellence of service are the key elements of our hotel that we are extremely proud of, and it is always such a pleasure to read our guests’ positive comments regarding these.

I do hope that we will soon have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel, for what I am sure will be another wonderful experience.

Believe the reviews. This is an outstanding hotel. The fabric of the building is high quality throughout; the location gives stunning views. But what makes this hotel stand out from the rest, are the staff. Always smiling, always there to help and serve - and it never comes over as false. My wife and I have just spent a week at Lindos Blu in the most relaxing, calming and peaceful environment. If that's the type of holiday you are looking for, I challenge anyone to find a better hotel anywhere. We stayed B&B because we enjoy trying different restaurants for dinner - so a 6 Euro taxi ride into Lindos offers a great choice. Breakfast was a highlight every morning. My wife had a massage in the spa which was of the highest standard. Usually I am a poolside resident but here the beach has the edge - clean, quiet, lots of sunbeds and bar service.

This was our second visit to Lindos Blu and we are already planning our next.

Room Tip: Views from the rooms on the upper levels are best.

Anything in this hotel, staff, food, service, is flawless. We booked half-board and I had not even once anything from the daily menu since I found anything I could wish for on the buffet. If anything, the service is a little too much over the top at times, and the hotel is extremely modern in design and not exactly small, making it feel a little sterile at times. High prices for any extras like drinks and the private villa is not so much private since you can see the private pool from other apartments, meaning you still should wear shorts for swimming. However, the hotel cant quite make up for the state the rest of the island is in, inclusing the beach. Considering the price, I would recommend other places like Six Senses Hideaway in Viet Nam or the Fasano Boa Vista in Brazil. As nice as it was, for me it was not really worth that much money.
