“Total Bliss!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2010

My husband and I have just spent a week at Lindos Blu, and loved every single minute of our stay!
We booked a package with flights and transfer through a Swedish tour operator about 6 months ago. After booking, I frequently logged onto Tripadvisor to read the new reviews posted here. To say the least, our expectations were pretty high when we left Sweden... From the moment we arrived, every member of staff were incredibly attentive, sweet and helpful. From the staff at the frontdesk, through everybody working the bars, roomservice and restaurants to the cleaning staff!
We stayed in a double with a shared plunge pool and made very good use of our patio and the pool. To be honest, we never even used any of the other two hotel pools!
We did however, go down to the beach, and it is wonderful, quiet and sandy!
Our room was light and spacious. Everything well thought out and beautifully designed. The free high speed wi-fi and the Nespresso espresso machine were two very much appreciated amenities! Not to mention the little chocolate truffles that were delivered every evening!
The breakfast buffet is plentiful and beautifully presented.
We had dinner one night at the gourmet restaurant "Five Senses". The service was impeccable, the food delicious and the ambiance quiet and luxurious.
The second restaurant, "Smeraldo", has a varied a la carte menu and also serves a buffet-style dinner for the halfboard guests.
We weren't on halfboard, but we still had the buffet a couple of times. Mainly because the dessert buffet was pure heaven! But all the food comes well prepared and artfully presented!
For us, who were looking for total relaxation and the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary, Lindos Blu was everything we could ever wish for!!!
We tend to never go back to the same place for vacation twice - but we are both prepared to break that rule for this peace of heaven!

Lindos Blu is magnificent. A modern (2 years old) stylish and modern hotel on a cliff side above a great bay/pebble beach. Rooms are modern, and all have a view. The staff and service exceptional. It is a Small Leading Hotel of the world...and it shows.

Rooms - we had one in C block w/ access ot a pool...great choice. Not only a veiw, but only shared w/ one other room the small pool. None of the rooms have an all day sun position as the hotel faces North east..but if you go to the communal pools..lots of space/places to get tanned. Plus, the beach is just a lift or two away. The rooms are marble, modern furnishings, great Korres toiletries and twice daily towel change. Beach towels are provided. great bath and shower, good lighting and super air con. Room service was excellent and housekeeping are quiet and unobtrusive and professional. Beds are firm and lots of pillows.

Food - outstanding. Go for the half board. Great selection and some of the best food I have had in Greece at a hotel. The snack bar is small..but has a good selection of favourites catering to the more Brit/UK side of things..burger, pizza, club sandwich..howevver, just ask, the hotel tries to accomodate everything. The dinner is amazing... if you go for the buffet, you wont be disappointed. Almost too much food on offer. The degustacion restaurant looked nice..but always seemed empty. Perhaps they would be better off to make this a good italian restaurant...it has a great view and is very romantic...but who wants Foie Gras in Greece? Breakfast is a buffet and is excellent...as I said, room service was exceptional.

Bars - laid back. the music the hotel plays in bars/and around pool was great..not too cheesy, not too 'HIP'...just right tone/level and selection. SPa and GYM - excellent - just perfect to work out in and relax around indoor pool..hammam/sauna. Perfect changing facilities too if you don't have a late check out and need to change/shower before leaving in the evening for a flight home.

Service - was brilliant. Everyone seemed to be happy and friendly...a good management operation if ever we saw one... greek, slovak, polish, austrian nationalities..everyone speaks perfect English. Most guests were either Uk/Irish/French or Greek the week we were there...and it is an adult only hotel..if you have kids under 17, stay next door at the sister hotel Lindos Mare. They share a beach and lifts...no reciprocal signing though at the restaurants.

The hotel's only downside...the steep walk down to the beach in the heat..and semi confusing (at first) lifts. Once you get the hang of it..it is easy.

Front desk staff were prompt and efficient..the bar upstairs made great drinks. The ease of getting a taxi into Lindos made it simple to leave (not that you will want to!).

A class operation. Well done..we'll be back.

We just got back from a 5 day break on the Island of Rhodes Greece. I found the Lindos Blu via TripAdvisor.com, the two search criteria I wanted were 5* + free wifi. After reading the reviews I made my reservations via the hotel website, simple quick and easy over the iPhone. To put things simple as the old saying goes in the Lindos Blu, "you get what you pay for". I reserved a double room with sharing pool, bed & breakfast. When we arrived Sunday evening after a flight from hell and an hours drive from the airport we were met at the desk with a friendly lady (forgive me I forget her name) immediately we were served sparkling wine, asked to wait on the balcony, where we were met by the beautiful view of the Vlycha Bay and I knew immediately we were going to have a great holiday.
The hotel is built on the side of the cliff so the system is a set of connecting blocks that make up the complex. Our room was D043. The room we was a comfortable size, extremely beautiful bath/Jacuzzi and separate shower. Amenities were all top notch and natural smelling mint, coffee & cinnamon. In the room there were complimentary sparkling wine (same served at the front desk), fruit, macaroons and water. For your convenience you get his & her robes and slippers. The room is equipped with a hair drier, safe, flat screen tv and sound system. I thought that there was an ipod docking station but found only an option to plug in a mp3 player.
Once we arrived, and due to the late hour we decided to have dinner at the hotel and added 35 euros per-person for a 3 course dinner that was gourmet tasty and well worth the upgrade. Personally we didn't order half board because we prefer to tour the town and try the tastes and aromas. But the dinner was exquisite & I would definitely suggest you eat there once, even if the price is a bit steep.
Indeed the highlight of the facilities are the swimming pools, 2 outdoor and one indoor. The upper pool (main) is a bit larger and the bar serves you and all the time there is background music. The lower pool, smaller and secluded was pleasant. Didn't try the indoor pool…. Waste of time in the middle of August ;).
I made good use of the gym, 2 treadmills, 1 cycle, 1 elliptical, some free weights and weight machine combo. One thing that would have been nice, a docking station for the ipod, it would have made my work out perfect. Dry sauna & wet steam room were lovely, clean and added to the sense of health and luxury. My wife did a massage, the detox-slim triple action, she was ecstatic afterwards, all I can say is that it was a well spent 75 euros.
As for the visit of the Isle of Rhodes the location of the Hotel is just outside Lindos around 2 km from the main old town square & 3 km to the summit of the acropolis, but unfortunately out of view. It can be walked (or run) but beware there are no side walks for the majority of the way. When you first get over the hill you are confronted with the breath taking view of the picturesque old Lindos, it is beautiful. We much preferred Lindos to Rhodes, less riff raff and plenty authentic Greek stuff, food, history and views. We visited the town of Rhodes twice an hours drive from Lindos, the old town is nice but hard to enjoy due to the hordes of tourists. Shopping for brands is in the centre just off of the old town of Rhodes, prices vary and some bargains can be found.
In conclusion, Lindos Blu, is an amazing no kids get away. For a quiet , luxurious breath taking holiday in a top notch hotel, I highly recommend this hotel.

We were upgraded to a junior suite with a shared pool when we arrived. The room was lovely and spacious and we felt relaxed almost as we walked through the door. We chose this hotel as a result of its no kids policy, and having had the pleasure of some people's youngsters in various other parts of the island believe this to have been a wise choice.

Our only criticism would really be in regard to location - we had intended to hire a car, but this fell though on arrival (warning: always ensure your international driving permit is up-to-date if you don't have an EU license). As such, we were at the 'mercy' of the Lindos taxi drivers who charge 7 euros to collect you from the hotel and 5 euros to take you back. In mid-summer walking to Lindos town is not really an option, not least as there is no side walk to speak of and its got a few hills. One taxi driver also claimed to have been waiting an extra 20 minutes for us after we called one (they come straight away), which was a lie as it was only enough time as it took me to return to our room to collect a camera, and then - once we had arrived in Lindos - charged us an additional 2 euros.

Anyway, apart from the one little taxi incident, Lindos was great. The room with a shared pool makes it such that you don't want to leave. One's 'pool neighbours' tend to be polite enough not to intrude on your half of the pool, so it isn't that invasive. Also, breakfast is served in your rooms if you want and that is highly recommended.

All in all, a great place to stay if you want to relax.

This hotel is the most amazing place we’ve ever been!

Rooms

We stayed in a standard double room, which had fridge, good hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities, Jacuzzi bath, separate walk in shower and loo, glass balcony for unobstructed views, complimentary sparkling wine, fruit bowl, robes and slippers on arrival, cd player with mp3 link up, flat screen tv, really fancy lighting, modern styling… I could go on. Every day at around 5-6pm someone comes round to change your beach towels, and delivers a little dish with chocolates in which was a nice surprise. If you’re not in the room at this time they also re-tidy it up for you. The air conditioning is superb, ice cool and adjustable if too cold. Even just the standard rooms are so nice you don’t want to leave, the suites must be amazing! All views are good, although some balconies can be seen from other balconies or walkways so they’re not completely private.

Food

We stayed half board, the food is out of this world. We kept trying things and saying “Mmm this is the best pineapple/egg/whatever we’ve ever eaten!” Dramatic but true, everything was just delicious. Really good variety, all hot and fresh, replenished regularly and the care and attention taken with presentation is something else. For breakfast there’s a really good range of the sort of thing you expect to get, but all of the absolute highest quality. You also get “real” orange juice served to the table. In the evening, there’s an optional soup which was always tasty, then buffet starters and waiter service main course, with buffet deserts. All of the flavours complement each other beautifully, it’s like eating in a top London restaurant every night. The only let down is that we got full too quickly and couldn’t try all of the wonderful things on offer! Best food I’ve ever eaten. We also tried the pool bar at lunch, which was really fresh and tasty too.

Location

The hotel is around 1.5 km from Lindos, as previous reviews state this is not walkable due to the busy motorway style road. Every time you want to go to Lindos, it will cost around 12-14 Euros return. Factor this in to your spending money as it did eat in to our budget quite a lot. As long as you are prepared for this though, the location is great. Lovely views, peaceful and with a nice beach down the hill.

Staff

Every member of staff we came across was completely professional, polite and helpful to us at all times. Everyone said hello as we passed, asked us if everything was okay and wished us a nice day. On arrival our cases were taken to our rooms whilst we enjoyed a complementary glass of sparkling wine, then we received a little tour of the room showing us what all the buttons etc did! Lovely staff.

Public areas

The 2 pools were kept really clean and tidy, we preferred the bottom infinity pool as it was so peaceful with gorgeous views, the top pool had a splash guard which spoilt the view a little. The sunbeds are of good quality, and although there aren’t loads of them there always seemed to be enough whatever the time of day. All other public areas were immaculate, always being cleaned. Everything was so modern that just walking back to your room felt like pure luxury. The gardens and planting are really well maintained, so they look nice but aren’t overgrown or imposing at all.

Overall

This hotel is worth every penny, although it is a lot of money. It is everything a hotel should be, perfect for couples wanting a peaceful break in a stunning location. There wasn’t much in the way of entertainment, but to be honest it’s not that sort of hotel- an Abba tribute would be rather out of place here haha! Go into Lindos if you want a more lively night, if not just relax in the bar or on your balcony- it’s bliss. If you’re going to Lindos, especially for something special like a wedding (we got married at St Paul’s Bay, the best day of our lives), I’d definitely recommend staying here. It’s worth that little bit extra, you will feel spoilt and pampered by the time you leave. If it wasn’t for the fact that we like to visit new places, we’d go here every year on holiday- and that’s the highest recommendation I can give!

We spent 2 nights at the Lindos Blu as our room at the Lindos Mare next door as our original suite was still in use.
The room they gave us was on a lower floor of the hotel and it took 3 lifts to reach it from reception. The lifts were beautiful glass and chrome and the interior of the hotel if lovely with lots of water features and highly polished floors.
The staff were very friendly offering us a glass of bubbly on our arrival prior to going to our room. The views from the hotel are breathtaking as are the Hotel Mare next door.
Our room was a double one with a en-suite bathroom with picture window into the bedroom, Jacuzzi bath, toilet and a serparet shower (which was fantastic as the showerhead is built in to the ceiling).
Our view was of one of the pools and we had a small patio with chairs and a table.
We only eat one night as we eat with our family at the Lindos Mare the first evening and although the food at the Lindos Blu was lovely we were very upset to find that the bottle of wine which we had at the Lindos Mare the previous night was €12 dearer at the Lindos Blu, this was the only thing that would put us off as over the two weeks it would have cost us and extra €168 just on the wine with the meal - we did not have any other drinks in the hotel as we joined our family later at the Lindos Mare.
I do not wish to put people off as this really is an exquisite hotel and the staff are so helpful and friendly but it is not a hotel for people who are watching the pennies (or should i say Cents).

Perfect for a quiet, relaxing Holiday. Pool, book, sun and a bar with great cocktails.
Had a junior suite. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Beautifull view over the Vlicha bay. Very good and friendly staff.
Huge selection of dishes for breakfast.
For dinner we went to Lindos or to the more quiet Charaki up north.
At the end of the bay in Charaki there is a very nice restaurant, very quiet en beautifull view over the sea.
This is the best hotel yet. Usually we try another hotel/place every year, but for this one we'll be back !
