“just loved this place”
Reviewed 20 September 2010

From the moment we arrived, to be greeted with a welcome gass of champagne nothing but nothing was too much trouble.
The setting overlooking the bay is just fabulous. The room was spacious and clean, although I did do a double take when i saw a picture window from the bathroom into our bedroom (there is a blind if this is not your idea of fun though) however my partner thought this was ab fab as he could watch the TV from the bath!
The service was pleasant and efficient, the whole place runs like a well oiled machine.
We were B&B but did eat in a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed it, though it was a tad pricey.
All I can add is that everything you have read on here is true and the Lindos Blu managed to exceed our high expectations.

My wife and I travelled to Rhodes and were staying in the Lindos Blu. We had already checked the tripadvisor ratings and were really looking tforward to the first real holiday in 3 years. Personally I felt that the hotle had a lot to do to live up to the comments already made by other travellers. So how did the stay go?

The hotel is excellent. Let's deal with this one logically - food, service, rooms and location.

Breakfast buffet is extensive, and very importantly, goes on until 11am, so there's no rushing around in the morning or having to reluctantly haul your self out of bed for breakfast if you fancy a lie-in. The egg bar is a nice touch, serving pancakes, fried eggs or omelette with a good selection of fillings.

The pool bar and room service menus are not particularly extensive, however the food served is still very high quality and the portions are generous. Unless you plan to eat off the room service menu for a couple of weeks, you should be fine.

The evening meals we had at the hotel comprised one meal in the Smeraldo restaurant (no booking required), and one meal in the Five Senses Gourmet restaurant. We felt the Five senses to be the better value, although the food in both was of a very high quality. One word of advice is that when we booked the hotel through a tour operator tey asked for £42 sterling per head for half-board. This was much more than the 32 euros the hotel asked as a fixed price to eat in the Smeraldo restaurant, so there was no advantage to paying up front for half board.

The Five senses is very good indeed, and was well worth the (small) premium we paid.

The service and staff attitude are what really make the difference however. They were really exceptional. I hope they read this as everything that could be done for us was done efficiently, fast and with a ready smile. Rome service was excellent, whether asking for cocktails from the cocktail bar, a bucket of ice etc. On the last night our taxi from Lindos town centre to the hotel tried to rip us off, asking for an extra 20% on the fare (this was the only time in two weeks that this happened). The receptionist sorted it out in 60 seconds flat and the hotel rang the taxi firm to explain that overcharging the Lindos Blu guests was something they took a very dim view of! Overall excellent, really excellent and we will be back next year.

Rooms are bright airy and clean. The bathrooms in the smaller (double or junior suite) rooms are small, but are brightened up by having a huge glass window which looks into the room and then out onto the balcony. This does mean that someone sitting on the toilet is visible to the rest of the room, even though the glass dividers are frosted, however there is an electrically operated screen which can be lowered if this is a bother. The basic double room is adequate in size rather than spacious, the only real option to sit in the room is either on the bed or out on the balcony. We did appreciate that there is a coffee / tea making facility in the rooms - something not always present in Europe. Wi-fi in the rooms is great, and was available on almost all the occasions I logged on to use it.

Location is OK. Generally we like to be able to walk somewhere (into a town or village) for evening meals, sightseeing etc. Walking into Lindos itself is possible, but not recommended - the road is rather hazardous. It can be done on a track around the coast, but this is a poor and rough path and not really an option in the evening for dinner or in the dark at all! The beach is easily accessible via a series of lifts and a short walk. The hotel has it's own section of parasols, and is located at the extreme right hand endof Vlicha beach, which offers a good degree of privacy and probably slightly better security whilst swimming etc.

Final summary would be that the Lindos Blu is a really exceptional hotel and we inted to return - which so far is something we have never done to any hotel - preferring normally to try somewhere or something new.

We were invited to a wedding gala that took place in Lindos Mare, a hotel just next to Lindos Blu, so we decided to take advantage of the opportunity to stay the night at Lindos rather than to drive back to the city of Rhodes. This was our first time at Lindos Blu so we decided to enjoy the luxury of one of the Villas with its own pool. We were amazed by the view: Simply breathtaking views to the sea, even within the infinity pool. The villa is spacious, as well as is the wooden pool deck. The hotel is very quiet also due to the fact that is a "adults only". We had very nice breakfast with very good service (the restaurant remains open by 11:00 am). The next morning, before our departure we ordered some snacks from the room service: The quality was up to the 5 star standards, as well as the service. It was a truly relaxing one-night escape. Thank you Lindos Blu!!!

Positives
- ADULTS ONLY ... enough said on that!
- perfect location ... i was a bit worried about the congestion in Rhodes Town but Lindos (and entire south/east coast of the island) is fantastic ... great views & far from overdeveloped
- direct access to a great beach that wasnt too crowded directly below the hotel
- my room which was a "double deluxe" had a large balcony that was fairly private
- WiFi everywhere (hard to find on Greek Isles)
- reasonbaly high-quality finishings in the hotel, nice interior decor
- very clean & well-maintained
- great bar with a superb view
- breakfeast buffett was quite decent, as was their fine dining restaurant (though the latter was over-priced)

Negatives
- room layout had a few issues ... 1stly, area they quote must include the balcony b/c actual space in the room was quite small ... 2ndly, there was NO DOOR on the bathroom & walls to shower/WC were glass (so you could see someone on the toilet from the bed)

- whilst spa wasnt that expensive (in relation to other 5-stars), massage wasnt up to scratch
- room service was terrible ... selection was bad & food was mediocre
- as a general point about Rhodes, there isnt good info out there for travellers & locals must not eat out b/c we could not find a good restaurants (and we asked front desk repeatedley ... Mavrikos and Ta Kioupia were notable disappointments)

We stayed here for our honeymoon and had a fantastic week.

Upon arriving at around midnight, we instantly relaxed when we were provided with a glass of sparkling wine to be enjoyed in the lovely bar overlooking the Rhodes coastline. During the course of the stay, we were upgraded at minimal cost to a better room and found at all times the whole experience to be very relaxing, romantic and enjoyable.

The hotel itself is lovely but it is the staff that really make this somewhere special - everybody you met was friendly, helpful and always smiling and happy to deal with any of your requests. We stayed on a bed/breakfast option and this worked very well for us - the breakfast has a fantastic selection (great omelettes!!) and if you have lunch, the portions are huge. We also dined twice at the Gourmet restaurant so it was nice not to get tied into the half board option every night (although when we did enjoy this, we found the variety and quality to be both excellent).

Overall a fantastic time and we would definitely look to go back again in the future.

My husband and I have just spent a week at Lindos Blu, and loved every single minute of our stay!
We booked a package with flights and transfer through a Swedish tour operator about 6 months ago. After booking, I frequently logged onto Tripadvisor to read the new reviews posted here. To say the least, our expectations were pretty high when we left Sweden... From the moment we arrived, every member of staff were incredibly attentive, sweet and helpful. From the staff at the frontdesk, through everybody working the bars, roomservice and restaurants to the cleaning staff!
We stayed in a double with a shared plunge pool and made very good use of our patio and the pool. To be honest, we never even used any of the other two hotel pools!
We did however, go down to the beach, and it is wonderful, quiet and sandy!
Our room was light and spacious. Everything well thought out and beautifully designed. The free high speed wi-fi and the Nespresso espresso machine were two very much appreciated amenities! Not to mention the little chocolate truffles that were delivered every evening!
The breakfast buffet is plentiful and beautifully presented.
We had dinner one night at the gourmet restaurant "Five Senses". The service was impeccable, the food delicious and the ambiance quiet and luxurious.
The second restaurant, "Smeraldo", has a varied a la carte menu and also serves a buffet-style dinner for the halfboard guests.
We weren't on halfboard, but we still had the buffet a couple of times. Mainly because the dessert buffet was pure heaven! But all the food comes well prepared and artfully presented!
For us, who were looking for total relaxation and the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary, Lindos Blu was everything we could ever wish for!!!
We tend to never go back to the same place for vacation twice - but we are both prepared to break that rule for this peace of heaven!
