“Enjoyed the holiday and we will return”

Having read both good and bad reviews of the place we went with an open mind. Had asked for high floor if poss and were given a ground floor next to walkway to pool. Would certainly have preferred more privacy, but having booked 2 weeks before travel, I suppose we had to have what was left. The towels were changed most days and were clean but worn and old. Sheets were changed only once, and again, clean but very worn. The room was cleaned every day except one to a good standard. Kitchen equipment sparse. Air conditioning expensive (70 Euros for the week) but necessary first week in Sept. Pool area lovely. Comfy sunbeds. Shade or sun at most times. Bar area very good (especially during the two hour "Happy Hour"). Two evenings were spent around the pool, one bbq with live music, one with greek fayre and karaoke. Both were good entertainment and Excellent value. Quite a trek into town but well worth the journey. Great beaches by day, especially the far one at St Paul's Bay, and brilliant roof top restaurants by night. Great choices, great food and house wines, not silly money. That just about sums up why we will return.

Had a fantastic time here. All was amazing apart from the heat. We decided to save our 140 euros (there for 2 weeks) and drip constantly for 2 weeks. We had to sleep on towels at night it was so humid. The staff were great, cooking facilities rubbish but there was good food in the bar and in Lindos. The setting and the hotel were outstanding. Make sure you take a trip to Rhodes town, but use the local bus at 5 euros each way rather than 20 for the organised trips. We also went on a trip to Symi island, well worth the money/
Most importantly make sure you are not in the lower accomodation. We were in 12b and there was no view, only next doors air con system. Have fun it is beautiful. Would recommend not going in August though, too hot!

Wow what can i say, Lindos Gardens was spectacular, ok so the self catering facilities may not be all the mod cons like microwave and toaster but so what, your on holiday - you didnt come here to cook you came to appreciate the greek life, enjoy the food, atmosphere and soak up the sun.
we had room 6L which was recommended by some lovely person on here (thanks) the views out to Lindos and the Acropolis were mesmerising, i couldnt believe just how stunning they were. The infinity pool was litterally 80 steps down hill with a small pool bar lots of sun beds here and again stunning views out to see and the Acropolis... However reception ,main bar and main pool were a long treck down a steep hill but ... how many of you didnt know there was an elevator ??? at the vending machine go up the steps and the elevator is hidden, it takes you up to the top floor which is where our room was.
The happy hour is not all that if im honest, beers and wines were good value but it doesnt include all long drinks.. i asked for a southern comfort and lemonade and was then told its not in happy hour, neither is jack daniels so be careful of this. it also does not include cocktails which was a real shame so we only used the bar twice and headed down into the town every night instead. (this is a 10 - 15 min walk down a STEEP hill , its ok going down but remember ya gotta come back up) we walked up and down one night and decided to get taxis back at 4 euros as it was just too much effort .
Air con we thought we could manage without with it being Septemeber, how wrong was I, we may as well walked into a sauna, you deffo need it so be prepared to part with 70 euros when you arrive.
Didnt see anyone on tennis or crazy golf our whole stay so not sure if you have to pay extra for these.
The maid service was fantastic, she didnt come till atleast 11 most days which meant we werent being disturbed, emptied bins and mopped floor one day and then changed sheets towels the next, the maid doesnt get enough credit she really was spectacular.

My boyfriend proposed to me on our 10th anniversary and we purchased the ring in Lindos ;-D , Lindos was amazing, so many gorgeous lovely restaurants and bars, too many to name but you must try Dionysis roof garden restaurant and Antika Bar for cocktails, met some awsome people and became friends . . .our holiday was so so soooooo enjoyable we really didnt want to leave and will be returning in May 2012 not only to Lindos but to Lindos Gardens :-)

Go and enjoy the beauty this wonderful little town has to offer. be warned - do not take heels, its all hills and cobbles and you wont be able to wear them. Also. be aware of the poor animal welfare in Lindos, you will constantly see Goats Donkeys and Cats wandering around looking very hungry and uncared for.

If you need any help - feel free to message me

Cheers

Chelle

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the complex clean, staff very friendly and pools lovely. We were fortunate to stay in the newer block and were pleasantly surprised. It was quiet, clean and adequate. Wouldn't like to have one of the older ones after reading previous reviews. Tried to hire a fan from the Flora supermarket but they don't have them to rent any more due to hotels complaining and making it a health and safety issue. We refused to pay the extortionalte price demanded for air con so we did without. Despite the intense heat, we survived and slept well Avoid the hotel food and very expensive drinks and get out into Lindos village. Yes, it is expensive there too but surely you're paying for the unique setting of this beautiful place. You are one of thousands so of course, they're going to make the most of it. Avoid the rip off taxi's and walk or take the bus. Don't pay for holiday trips or use the village travel agencies as they too are rip offs and not worth doing. Go to Rhodes town on the bus and do everything yourself. We learned the hard way!

Overall we had a lovely holiday here. The rooms were ok but you couldn't have prepared a meal in them, very little room in the kitchen area and not many pans etc. Bottom pool is great and had a nice mix of couples and families, our children absolutely loved it !!!!. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and the communal areas are all well kept and clean. Lindos is beautiful and well worth the walk up and down the hill. We would definitely return to lindos but maybe not lindos gardens although it was nice it's a little bit expensive for what you get.

i had read some of the reviews before booking end of 2010. they sounded good. i then read a couple of reviews before we went i have to say im not impressed . we have been going to greece self catering for over 20 years and we do basic very well, although a clean room good air con (70 euros per week) and items that work are a must. We were as i dreaded in the older blocks.
BAD bits
self catering consisted of one hob ring a kettle and a broken freezer door on the fridge which you had to slap shut
the patio windows are plastic and creak and crack as the sun comes up which wakes you up
air con wasnt cool and very noisy in the night
big gap under the apt door to allow crawlies in
we did find 2 cockroaches in the bathroom they were hiding behind the door frame that was hanging off at each side and came out while i was in the bath
we had to ask for loo roll and it still didnt arrive so take some with you
generally dirty
a lot of the staff were not greek and didnt seem to understand or be able to help
bbq and greek nigh already plated up so not good value
vodka and coke was £5
curtains were paper thin woke us up earl when sun comes up
good bits
our room 5c had a bath some didnt
infinity pool up the top was quiet away from chaos at larger pool
happy hour for 2 hours
bed was fairly comfy

other lindos tips

lindos main beach grubby lots of rubbish worn out sun loungers v still murky water
go on local bus to pefkas 1.60 euro 10 mins lovely small beach clear water and lovely cafe shop on the beach
we did take more money than usuall its now very expensive in greece
we spent £1200 just on the basics for 2 adults and one teenager for a week and my husband doesnt drink alcohol we only had breakfast out once and lunch twice the rest was on our evenin meal. we didnt all have starters and no desserts but the average meal was 50 euro hope this is helpfull. we didmeet people who had been back to lindos gardens again and again but i guess they pick the room no once you know which is good some other people we met had a much better maid who changed towels etc every day and cleaned well i guess its just our bad luck x

My husband and i stayed at LindosGardens for two weeks ,we found the accomadation was very good and very clean, although we did find the shower quite small anyone who is on the large side would find it a bit tight. The complex its self is lovley we went in August so the main pool was a bit busy ,but you do have the infinety pool wich is much quiter and the views are beutiful, also the sunloundgers are lovely with cushioned mattresses so no stiff backs when you want to sunbath for a few hours .Apart from going into Lindos old town at night there is not a lot more to do ,we found it quite exspensive to eat out 'so you do have to shop around .Lindos gardens have happy hour every evening so if you do like to have a drink before dinner it's buy one get one free! from 6 .30 to 8.30 in the evening. They also have B.B.Q and KARI OKI on Monday evening and wich was 12.50EUROS good value.also Friday is wecome night and for 5.50euros each you get a large plate of meze salad plus soulvaki kebab and plate each of lovely fruit with two very yummy little pastry's.Both myself and my husband are more mature holiday makers .so if you have trouble walking it's a bit hilly but we did not find it a problem .you also have two supermarkets very close by .So overall a lovely complex, lovely staff ,very clean, plenty of clean towels,. beds changed regulary,I would reccomend Lindos Gardens to familys and couples who are looking for a relaxing holiday.
