We have just enjoyed a week in Lindos at the Lindos Gardens. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Our studio was on the far side of the complex, fairly low down, and we had a view of the acropolis and church, and one of the children's paddling pools. One morning I saw the sunrise, and the sun appeared from behind the acropolis in spectacular fashion. Our studio was quite new, I believe, spacious and nicely kitted out with mini kitchen with hob and fridge, and bathroom with bath and shower. The room got very hot as it was single storey and very exposed to the sun, so we paid extra for the aircon which was well worth it. Lovely pool, and nice bar area by the pool. There is also a small infinity pool higher up the complex. Drinks a bit pricey and you cannot consume food or drink purchased elsewhere by the pool. However, there was a long happy "hour" from 6.30 when you could buy one drink and get one free. Food is served (we had a lovely Greek salad on the first night), but the food is limited. Don't expect a restaurant with sophisticated food. There is a well-stocked supermarket just 5 minutes walk away, with fresh fruit, veg and meat, so you can cater for yourself without walking into Lindos. There is a steep downhill walk into the town of Lindos with its lovely beaches and restaurants, but we found our legs got used to it after a few days! I recommend this place highly, so long as you don't mind walking up and down some steep slopes and steps.

still enjoying Lindos Gardens. Here on holiday October for 2 weeks. Changes to pool area are excellent and really make a difference. Danny is the bar man at the infinity pool bar. He is very funny and a great addition to the lindos gardens staff. Staff generally are very helpful. Menu has improved and offers a great choice. Been coming to Lindos Gardens for a few years and it never disappoints.

Room tip: quite hilly so only fit travellers choose a higher room otherwise go for blocks c and e. Also good views from these rooms.

We stayed there in September and it was our 2nd time. The first thing that struck us when we arrived was the friendliness of the staff-it was especially nice that two of them remembered us from two years ago. Our studio was basic but clean and perfectly adequate. The kitchen area seemed a bit small but that didn't matter to us as we were not planning to cook anything. There was plenty of room and storage space in the rest of the studio. It was cleaned every 2-3 days and we liked the extra touches such as seeing the towels arranged in different shapes.
We found that the main pool area had been improved since our last visit and had a poolside bar and newer and more comfortable sun beds. We spent most of our time however in the quieter infinity pool near the top of the complex. There was a small bar area that sold drinks and light snacks during the the day.
The meals in the main bar were good but I do not feel they were quite as good value as they had been on our previous visit. On most days we went to the bar for Happy Hour (1830 to 2030) where we could get two drinks for the price of one before going to the village for a meal. We ate at the Ice Bar/Traditional House a couple of times which offered a good value meal and was on the main road near the supermarkets which saved us trekking down the hill into Lindos itself. Our favourite places in the village for a meal were Mythos and Marias.
There were two great entertainment nights at the resort. On Fridays we had kebabs for 6 euros before hearing guitar music from all eras from Costas who was a very talented musician. We also went to the barbeque on Mondays and I don't think you would get a better barbeque for 12.5 euros-so many different kinds of meat. That was followed by the karaoke which isn't really our thing but we did enjoy listening to everyone else sing.
The resort was located about 15 minutes walk from Lindos village but was on a hill with several steps so it might not suit those with mobility problems. It was close to the main road however where there were two supermarkets and a bus stop.
A couple of minor criticisms is that we could have done with a shower curtain so the bathroom floor didn't get so wet and also the bar area could have done with more than one of each toilet during busy times. Apart from that, we had a wonderful time and hope to return sometime in the future.

Room tip: We staying in room 1D which was about halfway up. It still offered lovely views of the Acropolis and the balcony was high enough to be able to leave the doors open without worrying about anyone climbing in and also far enough way so as not to get the noise from the bar.

We have just returned from our holiday at Lindos Gardens (26.09.2012). We were a party of about 30 in Lindos for a wedding. Everyone generally agreed they liked the complex and where it was situated. Speaking amongst our group it seemed that the quality of the rooms differed quite a lot but we were very happy with ours. If you don't mind walking up several flights of stairs request a room in G block. You get a fantastic view of the Acropolis and sea. The rooms were spacious with plenty of hanging space, tables and side cabinets. Cleaning is every 2-3 days. Although we did notice that the mirror in the bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned when it misted up and we saw English writing on the mirror. The only small downside to our room was the cutlery and crockery. As we were in a room for 3 (we were only 2) there was three of everything; knives, forks etc. There was just one breadknife and a corkscrew. There were no knives for preparing a salad or meat etc. Also a bowl and glass was missing which only would have been a problem if there had been a third person in our room. The complex itself was very pretty and clean. We were told there have been recent refurbishments. There were 4 pools in total. If did smell of sewerage if you sat near the baby pool adjacent to the "main" pool but otherwise there were no other odour problems. The sunbeds looked smart and are very comfortable. The food and drinks were pricey at Lindos Gardens. Go to the local supermarkets (3 closeby). Happy Hour is good though (2 hrs!). Even cheaper in village! Or eat at the restaurants in the village. The infinity pool is very nice. Located near G block. Recommend the kebab night. Scrumptious tender meat. Disappointed with barbeque night - meat ok but rice bland. Lindos Gardens is set back a little from the main road where there is a bus stop and small ticket office. You can easily get around Rhodes from here and into Rhodes town. 10-minute walk to village. Staff friendly. We would definitely return to this complex.

Room tip: G block if you don't mind walking up several flights of stairs. Rooms are very nice. View is fantastic of sea and Acropolis.

The Garden Apartments complex is set high on the hillside overlooking Lindos town and the magnificent Acropolis. We had one of the lower apartments, which had the Acropolis view (albeit that view included the back of the local shop, with its attendant cooler units, plus power lines and the Greek version of chain-link fencing and the coach park). We were greeted every morning by the "Donkey Chorus" from the many beasts employed to take visitors up to the Acropolis, ably assisted by assorted goats, chickens and dogs - but this suited us well, as we're keen on wildlife! The apartment itself was kept clean by a very pleasant lady who worked hard in the heat, but it would have been nice to have the sheets changed a little more frequently than twice in ten days, however, that wasn't her fault. There was also a persistent leak in the bathroom from behind the toilet and a pervasive smell of drains. The mattresses on the beds (we had requested a double, but ended up with twin beds) were like sacks of potatoes!
The air-conditioner cost us 70 Euro for 10 days and was very noisy, but we couldn't have coped without it.
The town of Lindos is reached by a downhill trek of over 1km (hard in the heat) and the beach by a further 0.5km downhill - which is ok, but coming back up is a killer (taxis from the town square charge 5 Euros)! The beach is lovely, with clear shallow waters and clean sand, a couple of good snack bars and - yes! - changing huts and wc's.
Lindos town is a gem - windy, narrow streets full of market goods, fresh foods, clothing etc., just watch out for the donkeys taking people up to the Acropolis (5 Euros each, one way). Loads of good restaurants serving Greek foods, but quite narrow in choice and, we felt, quite expensive: an average price for a main meal was around 9 Euros, but you did get a lot of it and the local Mythos beer is superb (available canned in the local supermarket at 1 Euro for 500mls). There are lots of roof garden restaurants with lovely views over Lindos Bay and the town/Acropolis and in the vast majority, we had good service and fantastic food.
Local buses are an experience not to be missed. We travelled to Rhodes Old Town from Lindos Square (a journey of about 50km) for 5 Euros each, one-way. The buses are air-conditioned and clean. The drivers are quite mad. On the way back from Rhodes, ours spent the whole time talking to another bus driver on the CB whilst steering round bends at about 70mph, so hold onto your hat if you take local transport!!

Room tip: Rooms overlooking the Acropolis get sun in the morning and are quieter.
